In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “Word for the Day”.
Staid
Adjective
staidly - adverb. staidness - noun.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I staid at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so nyahh..!
Good morning! No new snow overnight here, so I am happy. No sun, either. ((sigh))

The RINOs all mob them
But they’re part of the problem
I think that both of them need to get laid

I was excited when Heather’s parents left for the evening, but her staid grandmother stayed on the couch between us, sharing her favorite cat pictures from several decades with only Mr. Buttons, Miss Kitty, Boots, Snowball, Smokey, Shadow, and their predecessors for company.
When his girlfriend told Bubba he needed loosen up and be open to change he replied, “I’d rather just be me in staid.”

Yeah, it would have been a TERRIBLE haiku...
