Score at half with the “deflated” balls—17-7. Score after the deflated balls were replaced at halftime— 45-7.
Some controversy....
Doesn't matter. If the balls were deflated after being approved of by the refs then it is a serious thing.
Cheating isn’t ok if you didn’t need to cheat to win.
Some controversy....
Okay, they didn't need to cheat. So, why did they?
I just embrace the hate. The only explanation for the winningest team in the NFL for the last 15 years HAS to be that they cheat. Not that these other loser franchises just stink and barely get to .500 every season... It’s because the Patriots cheat. Embrace the HATE! Every QB in the league does something to the balls to get them the way they want them. Eli, Rodgers, Donovan McNabb, even that loser from Tampa Bay. This is nothing but jealousy of the Pats and nothing more.
The Patriots scored four touchdowns after the footballs were replaced at halftime, just like you said.
But that won’t stop the BS comments from some of the posters on these endless “deflategate” threads.
Any other rules we should just forget about?
Due to the score the Colts eventually had to throw more in adverse conditions which helped set up the Patriots with short fields. That game situation was evidently set up using partially deflated footballs.
From a total game management standpoint, this is a big deal. I’ve been around enough football teams and coaching staffs in my time to be able to say that.
