The Boston Globe ^ | January 22, 2015 | Matt Pepin

Posted on 01/22/2015 7:24:55 AM PST by Biggirl

Coach Bill Belichick said he did not know of any issue with the Patriots’ game balls in Sunday’s AFC Championship, and did not learn the league was investigating his team until Monday morning. He also said he did not know how the Patriots’ footballs became underinflated during the game.

It’s best to deny knowledge of anything. This is what the Democrats always do...and they are never held accountable.

What Belecheat really said: As usual, we let the air out of the balls before kickoff. I didn’t know there was a controversy until after the game.”

They should fire all the NFL Referees if they can't tell if a ball is deflated or not.

(Of course he has no explanation...what "explanation" did he have when his asst was dispatched to cheat on the Rams prior to the Super Bowl?)

The Pats should forfeit all home playoff advantages for the next two years that they make the playoffs.

They can't be trusted.

If they can "id" the culprits, which, of course, won't happen...that person & those who put him up to it should be fired.

Also, the white hat who allowed it to happen to the degree it did should be out the door. And his wings & umpire should be cut off from playoff activity for a few years.

And all of this is just for starters...the NFL loves to push the $ penalties.

Score at half with the “deflated” balls—17-7. Score after the deflated balls were replaced at halftime— 45-7.

Some controversy....

So... no center on either team noticed the ball was deflated? No running back? No receiver? No referee? The quarterback of the opposing team? All of these guys handle the ball every single down. Assuming for a second that Belichek isn't responsible for it... when does he ever handle the ball for him to notice?

Is it possible they were inflated in warm temperature and used in lower? If the balls were different, why didn't the Colts say anything? They handled the ball too. Maybe it was equally beneficial?

” He also said he did not know how the Patriots’ footballs became underinflated during the game.”

Seems pretty obvious. The only real question is who did it and does that really matter. Do we need Hillary to step in and address this?

Safe to say, this is more of an “NFL” problem:

And this was just the AFC championship game. What other cheating is implemented during the regular season? Funny how the Patriots are ALWAYS in the playoff hunt even with constant changes to the line up. What are the odds? Even the greatest coached teams go through ups and downs, but not the Patriots since BB became the coach.

The Seattle Seahawks should sell officially licensed pressure gauges to their fans and their defensive players should attached them to their pads or uniforms during the game to do some spot checks.

Belichick has now been caught cheating twice. I can only imagine how much other illegal stuff he and Brady have been getting way with for the past 15 years. He should never make the Pro Football HOF because of this.

While I am sure the NFL will never vacate any NE wins or championships, fans, writers and football historians should discount them as tainted.

The NFL doesn’t care as long as they have viewers. New England brings a lot of viewers to the table.

Doesn't matter. If the balls were deflated after being approved of by the refs then it is a serious thing.
