BRIDGETON, N.J. Another police killing is stirring anger in another town, this time in New Jersey, where a tense traffic stop captured on video ended with a passenger shot to death as he stepped out of a car with his hands raised at shoulder height.
The newly released footage from a police dashboard camera shows Bridgeton officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley in a Dec. 30 stop that escalates quickly after Days warns his partner about seeing a gun in the glove compartment of the Jaguar...
[SNIP]
Reid, 36, had spent about 13 years in prison for shooting at New Jersey State Police troopers when he was a teenager. He was also arrested last year on charges including drug possession and obstruction; Days was one of the arresting officers then.

I’ll answer any question I can for ya. I have no idea what the subjects/suspect motive was after he exited the vehicle. I am not a mind reader nor can I predict what people might do.
You seem angry...I didn’t have anything to do with this shoot BTW.
Well the cop had already backed off away from the door. He had the whole side of the car in sight. The passenger had his hands raised so the cop could see he didn't have a gun. And the cop shot him anyway. I'd like to think I would have used better judgment than that.
I did not see an “execution”. When the passenger got out of the car after repeatedly being told to not move, he SUDDENLY AND RAPIDLY popped out. I’ve watched the video three times and my opinion is that it was a justified “fear for life” shooting. Maybe if I watch it 20 more times, I’d change my mind, but I doubt it. It was a tough call for the cop.
I have no idea what was in the vehicle, other than seeing passenger side officer reach in and remove a weapon prior to the shooting.
“Who did he kill?”
I don’t think he can anymore.
Unless you want suicide by cop.
Got one everyplace but the glove box. It’s full of owners manuals and other useless junk. That’s no reason to shoot.
So lets call it what it is.
A good old fashioned non judicial execution. Hitler would be proud. Anybody else might call it murder. That is after all what it was.
Why thank you. However, the passenger side officer already had taken the weapon out of the vehicle prior to the passenger exiting.
BTW, when the passenger exited, he did appear to have two empty hands up, at about shoulder height.
Which means that he didn’t have a gun or knife on him as he lunged for the cop... /dumbass mode
I know that.
You said the man was a cop killer. I asked you who he killed.
You changed the subject.
I am changing it back.
Will you please provide the name of the person or persons this man killed?
I’m guessing the cop already knew who he was dealing with and that would have ramped up the tension about 100 fold.
Rapid erratic movements pretty much sealed the deal.
“Will you please provide the name of the person or persons this man killed?”
The yoot shot three cops when he was 13. Unseal his juvie and lets see.
But I did see the suspect exit the vehicle with what appeared to be two empty hands up, at about shoulder height.
You’re not a mind reader but you want the cop to be one and bet his life on guessing right.
Arguing with people who put common sense on hold and dance around questions can be anger inducing. If you had to answer why the kid got out of the car, what ACTUAL answer would you give? Or put another way, is there a chance he was going to go after the cop and try to take his gun and that is, given that the cop was there and we were not, exactly what the cop thought?...especially after telling the kid not to move! ...and after reading the kids history do you have any doubt that the cop was right?
All rhetorical questions. I’m guessing you won’t answer one.
I did not see the officer “reach in and remove the gun from the glove compartment.”
Geographic scope limitation exception to the search warrant requirement: the person and the areas into which he could reach in order to procure a weapon or destroy evidence = wingspan rule. SC said in 1991 (Belton) when a person is validly arrested in a car their wingspan includes the entire interior compartment of the car and everything in but not the trunk of the car.
Another case where actually LISTENING to the officer is the difference between life and death. This wasn’t a nice guy. He had shot at cops before. The cops knew the guy from previous altercations. If he listens, he goes back to jail where he belongs. But he doesn’t. Too bad. So sad.
I’d like to think I would have used better judgment than that.
/////////////////////////////////////////
I’m in a gambling mood so I’ll try once more.
And exactly what would’ve your ‘better judgment’, as you safely sit behind your computer, told you to do as the kid got out after being told not to move?
Who said I wanted that??
I just reviewed the video and made some observations. You're the one who assumed you knew what the intentions of the subject was after he exited the vehicle. No?
You seem angry.
