Is this a sign of deflation and recession?
I was at the McDonalds and got a breakfast sandwich. With my receipt they give me a slickly put together 4" x 4" paper that says Big Mac and Quarter Pounder for $2 from January 12th to January 28th. Is Mickey Dee's clearing out stale hamburger inventory? Are they trying to drum up business? They always seem to hold the line on their two top selling hamburgers at $3.99. Now they are going for half price. For a limited time only of course
They raised their prices too high and lost business to their competition. Now, I guess, they are trying to undo the damage they did.
I wouldn’t read too much into a 2 week sale, especially in January.
Getting people reacquainted with them.
Burger King has been selling certain of their “premium” sandwiches at 2 for $5 for quite a while now.
Mickey D’s, the story of the incredible shrinking hamburger.
Denver people could get them for a DOLLAR the day after a broncos game if they have a special reusable key fob coupon they would mail out.
Big Mac = crack
There is nothing like a great bowel movement inducer.
They injected more pink slime into the beef so they can afford to lower the price.

The Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder is worth about 1 Dollar. You can keep it.
They make their real money on popcorn
McDonalds always has a promo at the beginning of the year. It’s how they try to break lots of New Years diets and resolutions among their demographic base. I noticed this many many years ago. I’ve even fallen victim to it. It’s simply a marketing strategy.
Have you tried “PINK SLIME” lately??? They are grinding Prime Rib into the recipe. /SARC
Yep. Their "Big" Mac is practically a slider these days. I think I can eat one in three bites. Wendy's is just as guilty.
If I want a fast-food burger, I'll go to Burger King. I don't know if BK has improved over the years or if they've stayed the same while everyone else has gone down hill.
Of course, nobody beats Five Guys, but they're a little more pricey.
“Big Mac = crack”
Big Mac = diarrhea.
Burger King is still in business? Dayum! Every single one of ‘em within like 20 miles of me is GONE. Closed-up, GONE.
Who cares?
