Woman 30 Weeks Pregnant Traveled From U.K. to U.S. to Have Abortion Yesterday

The pro-life community from all across the world came together in prayer and action in an attempt to help a divided family from the United Kingdom who traveled to the United States for a late-term abortion. Unfortunately, the pro-life efforts were unsuccessful and a mother aborted her 30-week old baby yesterday in the U.S.

Local New Mexico-based pro-life advocate Bud Shaver tells LifeNews that a 20-year-old woman came to Albuquerque, New Mexico to seek an abortion at 30 weeks of pregnancy. The young woman traveled with her radically pro-abortion father by her side, he said, who was pressuring her to have the abortion.

The woman’s mother sought help within the UK and then Priests For Life became involved once the woman was on her way to the United States.

Janet Morana, Executive Director of Priests For Life, issued an urgent plea yesterday to pro-life activists before the abortion with more details about the situation.

“Urgent prayer needed! A 20-year-old woman from Great Britain is on her way to New Mexico to abort her baby. She is 30 weeks pregnant. Her mother in Great Britain and her uncle in Spain have reached out to Priests for Life for our help and prayer. She is in Atlanta now, aware that she and her father will be prosecuted when they return home, because it is illegal in the UK to go to another country for an abortion. She is going to pay $12,000 to kill this almost full-term baby at Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque on Tuesday. Please pray for Emily and her baby.”

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, a local priest in New Mexico who is also a leading local pro-life activist, also tried to help the family find abortion alternatives. Fr. Imbarrato worked tirelessly with the family to make the best resources available to this young woman and her father and offered to pay allof the costs of flying the family to a maternity home willing to take in the young woman and provide for her.

Sadly, as Shaver tells LifeNews, the young woman went ahead with the abortion.

“Unfortunately it appears that the young mother did end up killing her child despite all of our best efforts. Please keep her and her family in your prayers, they will need your prayers now more than ever,” he said.

A local pro-life sidewalk counselor at the late-term abortion clinic in New Mexico that did the abortion yesterday reported from the scene.

“It breaks my heart to tell you that it seems Emily went through with the abortion. Every possible effort was made by our pro-life community to save this baby & her mother from the pain abortion WILL cause her,” the local pro-life advocate said.

The sidewalk counselor indicate the woman would return today to complete the abortion.

“If you would, please continue to pray. Because Emily was 30 weeks along, she will need to return to the clinic tomorrow to have her cervix artificially softened in order to deliver her dead baby. She will labor as if she is full term & her as if her baby were alive. I cannot fathom how painful this will be. Not to mention the lifetime of regret & suffering Emily will endure because of this choice,” the counselor said.

Thats disgusting. A 30 week old unborn baby can survive outside the womb, the argument that it is the mother’s body has absolutely traction when the child either has to come out via ceaserian or ‘natural’ childbirth anyway.

What a terrible thing. I know it happens every day here in Albuquerque, but I just hate it. That woman’s child would survive if she or he had been born yesterday instead of aborted.

Breaks my heart. So many people are able to care for a child, wanting one so badly and would do almost anything to have one and then we have people like this.

Until the world lays the blame for the murder of innocent defenseless child and the feet of the murderer herself, the murder will continue to be promoted.

Only mothers have the legal right to murder their children. We are supposed to accept that only the mother can make that decision...not the father. Yet, the blame gets laid at the other people’s feet...like her father’s. Excusing the murderer from the murder. Un-freakin’-believable.

Mother’s have killed 1.32 billion of their children just since 1980. More people than all the world’s wars and health epidemics combined throughout all recorded history has killed, and in just 34 years. Mothers wombs, as an entity, are the deadliest most evil place ever to exist in the world. Because man denies these are murders...we deny the truth...1/3 of women murder their children.

There are people that would take that baby right now, even knowing it would be in a NICU for a month or so.

The girl even had a maternity home that offered to take her & the priest was going to pay for everything! No excuse there.

Ethical issues aside, this is a man bites dog story. Every birth story I have heard involving a trip to the US was for the purpose of having, not preventing the birth on US soil in order to get anchor baby citizenship.

She is so far along she has to go through full labor anyway! What would it hurt to wait a few more weeks and birth a live child for an adoptive couple? I cannot imagine going through full labor only to deliver the child I had murdered. Wonder how many of her siblings or half-siblings her strident pro-abortion father has had aborted?
