Yes. Never, never again.
I’m so sorry. I did a queck check on deaths from spaying and neutering. Found these stats....
In 2009 our low-cost spay/neuter program sterilized more than 10,000 animals, including 4,600 free surgeries for needy Texas residents.
Death
(intra-operative anesthetic death) 12
(preexisting conditions, such as canine heartworm, FeLV, FIV, parvo, rat poison, etc) - 7
TOTAL - 19
Several studies done on elective spay/neuter surgeries at universities and private practices have shown the following rates on routine complications:
Postoperative - 14%
Serious - 4%
Death - 0.1%
Spay Neuter Networks overall logged rates of complications for the 9227 surgeries in 2009 were:
Postoperative - 2%
Serious - 0.7%
Death - 0.2%

I’m guessing death is probably about 0.1 to 0.2% across the board across the nation.
That is very low. But when you factor in that some of these pets were ill and sick to begin with, and you consider how many tens (hundreds maybe) of thousands of operations are done each year - and then figure in questionable “chop shops” like you experienced - then I’m sure deaths occur on a daily basis.
bgill, I’m not attempting to console you with these facts and stats. I hope you don’t take offense, I just wanted to understand how this could happen.
God bless.....
I am so sorry for your loss. You will meet again in Heaven.
Next time, go to an AAHA (American Animal Hospital Assn.)
veterinarian.
I’m glad that you’ll never take any of your precious pets to the
people who killed Cuddles.
You can look up the vets in your area and find out if they’re
certified by AAHA.
My husband and I have had great service from our AAHA vet.
