Even better than listening to ex-players is listening to current players describing the plays they were involved in, which is exactly what we had an opportunity to do when Tony Romo talked in detail about his TD throw to Witten during the post-game press conference on Sunday.
What we'll do for the rest of this post is go through what Romo said word-for-word and see how that fits with the game tape that we have.

Fan of any team that plays the Cowboys. Does that count?...
ABSOLUTELY!
ME!!
Love the Boyz!
You said Cowboys, but you’re really talking about the dallas drug monkeys.
bttt
Your cowboy fan background is mine but I have 2 years on you. It is hard to be a Cowboy fan with Jones running the show. And just when you think this year would be terrible and Jones might hire a real GM- BOOM they start playing football. I am one who actually likes the run. I find excessive passing boring especially considering the NFL obsession of helping the passing game with defensive penalties and all the while allowing obvious offensive holding. Nice to see the cowboys playing smash mouth football.
I am Skins fan, I am not a Cowboys fan, but its been like a eon since they won anything. I am however I am a fervent Philadelphia (and New York) fan hater. I do not dislike the teams, just the obnoxious, rude, low class fans, especially Philly. So when Philly was knocked out of the playoffs by the Cowboys, I jumped up and celebrated in the faces of Philly fans that I know.
me too. #FuPhilly
Man, how many Staubach to Pierson TDs won the game in the last few minutes on a Sunday afternoon?
For Christmas gifts this year I got the Philly fans in my life batteries as stocking stuffers, so they can throw them at the athlete of their choice next game they go to. I also offered a Philly fan (girlfriend’s brother) lessons on how to teach his kids how to boo Santa Claus.
I'm glad that the Chip Kelly gimmick is over. Kelly showed that bringing a college offense to the pros and snapping the ball once every 20 seconds is a great way to go 3 and out very quickly.
I also laughed as the leftist sports media was looking bewildered after trying to constantly pump the Eagles up as a good team. Kelly was going through quarterbacks like a Pez dispenser, and thought Mr. ButtFumble would bring him a playoff berth.
I just love seeing the tears on Iggles fans.
I’ve come around on Romo, he deserves league MVP this year.
The sports media is falling all over themselves to try and crown the Seahawks the best team in the NFC, forgetting that a healthy Cowboys team beat the Seahawks IN Seattle mid-season, and beat a good Colts team by a greater margin than the Seahawks beat a marginal Cardinals team.
I say it's Dallas/Seattle and Manning/Brady on Championship Sunday.
That’s the credo of Houston fans. Bitter people those Houstonians.
I’m OK with the Cowboys.
As a previous poster said, it looks like they’re getting away from the old thugball/trash-talking days.
But I’m a Green Bay fan thru and thru.
Jock Sniffers.......
IMO, you have hit the key for the Cowboys success this season. Judicious use of draft picks to on rather unglamorous interior linemen has paid off in spades. They give Romo 8-10 secs. of ironclad protection in the pocket.
With that kind of time, Romo will find an open receiver and hit him, almost every time.
Well said.
And I guess comments like this show what "smart" guys you are...I'm an Eagles fan, have been since the days of Jaworski.
So continue to heap the misplaced and unwarranted abuse on fellow FReepers who have the audacity to root for a team that you don't and don't wonder why it sounds like an echo chamber on threads like this. It couldn't possibly be that the comments are profane and quite personal.
Hey, have yourselves a very Merry Christmas. This "illiterate felon" who is an "indecent human being" sure will.
Afterall, it's only a damned game managed by a bunch of politically correct [leftists], played by overpaid thugs and uneducated morons who couldn't make a dime in the real world anyway.
Cheers!
Wow ... haven't heard that one since the 90s.
