Sheesh! Talk about a cheap shot.
If former New Mexico governor and Clinton cabinet member Bill Richardson dislikes Jeb Bush, at least criticize him for something plausible. Instead, Richardson took a cheap shot at Jeb Bush on Meet The Press today for supposedly having a poor ability to speak Spanish. Really, Bill? Because the video below of Bush speaking Spanish during an interview with Univision's Jorge Ramos clearly demonstrates a high degree of fluency in that language.

lol...
Richardson is jealous. He claims to be Hispanic to get votes, but probably doesn’t know more than a few phrases.
A ratón is a mouse. A rata is a rat. But for Spanish sailors of the time, a ratón was a rocky patch fronting a bay or inlet.
Boca actually means a bay or inlet, or the “mouth” of a river, a term we still use in English.
I later found out that Huntsman BARELY speaks Chinese. What little Chinese he spoke was very poor.

This was all part of some news show on Richardson when he was running for President. Also, as a resident of NM, I’ve heard him speak more than once, just as fluently as Bush or any individual born in Mexico could.
I’m certainly not defending him saying this about Bush, but I can’t stand to see misinformation about anyone out there, if I can correct it. As for Prez, Bush and Richardson can both go pound sand as far as I’m concerned.
Hey, I don’t speak Spanish either. Foolish me. I was born in a country, America, where English was the official language. Or so I thought. I always thought it behooved immigrants to learn their adopted country’s language. Not the other way around. Now I realize that I live in a bizarro world. And I don’t even know how I got here, much less how to get back.
I just remember that bit in the debates where he broke out the Chinese and everybody kind of groaned and rolled their eyes. It was actually pretty funny. he thought it was going to help him but I think it had the opposite effect.
His ability to speak Spanish is VERY good in my opinion. If you want to have a REAL chuckle...compare his Spanish to that of DeBlasio (when he spoke regarding the assassination of the two NY policemen the other day).
Pathetic...
On what do you base your opinion of superiority? What makes one language superior to another?
You are aware that, if not for the Great Vowel Shift in the history of English, we’d probably all sound German...right?
I agree with you...on both counts. :-)
Ingles es mas expresivo, por seguro.
