Wow. Marine ARRESTED for This Facebook Post About Obama
Conservative Tribune ^ | December 19, 2014 | Unknown

Brandon Raub is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who decided to post critical opinions about Barack Obama on Facebook. What happened to him then will strike fear into the hearts of any good American and make them wonder what country they’re living in.

According to the Rutherford Institute, Raub was arrested by “a swarm of FBI, Secret Service agents and local police,” and detained without charges for “mental evaluation.”

The detention, it’s alleged, was done under a federal program codenamed “Operation Vigilant Eagle.” The program is intended to surveil former veterans who publicly express opinions critical of the government.

I went to the link. The title is the same, but this is the quote from the article:

"Below is one of Brandon Raub’s posts. While not exactly in the mainstream of political thought, it certainly doesn’t seem to represent someone who represents a danger to the community (H/T Teaparty.org)." (Bold is mine.)

The bold statement makes me wonder if this is the post that got him detained.

You may be right because death and destruction sure seems to be the outcome. Have you noticed how they cannot stand the light of truth? They will immediately stamp it out. For example, notice on the Sunday talking head shows (I don’t watch them much anymore)when the token conservative tells it like it truly is. At first the other panel members have stunned looks on their faces and then they launch vicious attacks, almost on cue, and do their best to drown out the voice. I’ve seen it so often until I can’t stomach watching these shows anymore. My blood pressure won’t take it.

Combat veteran feeling a little blue? Having some transitioning or marital problems?

For God's sake don't go to the VA for some counseling or Prozac!. You will instantly be monitored by our Vigilant Eagles. Go to your church, local legion, or VFW post for consulting advice. Consider an attorney as well.

I think there is definitely truth to many things this young mane stated. He made some definitely and positive points as to what is wrong with out country. Getting arrested and jailed for what he said, being a marine or not, is WAY out of line in this country. He needs a good lawyer to sue the pants off the gubmint. I would support this man all the way be he a bit of the edge or not.

this story is a couple of years old, and it’s probably not someone we want to champion. he was charged with sex crimes against a minor last year, which was about a year after he was zapped by the gubmint for criticizing The Messiah.
______________

I used to believe this stuff.

The Soviets used to charge anyone they didn’t like with sex crimes which made them untouchable. No one would come to their aid.

These days when I hear that a government critic is suddenly charged with sex crime, I don’t believe it. Easiest to manufacture evidence.

Too frequent and too convenient for leftists.

Anyone can be charged with anything. Koresh was called a child molester, and a drug manufacturer among other things as the government tried to spin it to make their raid look legitimate.

I sometimes post before reading all the others first. Seems that is the issue on this thread or everyone would have just dropped it.

These things usually start with a spouse or ex who thinks the cops or government is her therapist or friend. They initiate a response which dominoes once it’s tipped. That’s my bet.

Back in the good old days...which are looking better to me by the day...the family and the church community....were the backbone of support.

This will be one to follow as it progresses or doesnt.

One of the fascinating things about that picture is that there was a time that the people seeing it thought it was the height of modern and sophisticated.

I hadn’t thought about that but you are exactly right. This comes directly from their playbook. Remember how Paula Jones became trailer park trash who could be summoned by trolling a hundred dollar bill thru the park (James Carville)? This is just one example but the do it over and over again. The sad part is they usually get away with it due to the influence of the MSM. The alleged transgression is painted in flashing headlines but later proven to be untrue. But by then the damage has been done and it is on to the next news cycle.

You point out one of the goofball comments, but the truth is that I could find nothing that would get a guy arrested.

The one insightful comment, that bankers loaning the US money are also the bankers running the economy, and that they profit on the interest off those loans is not a new thought by any means.

So, why arrest this guy? I expected to at least see something that could be taken as a veiled threat.

As a kid growing up, my dad used to take me every Saturday afternoon to the local tavern with him while we walked home with our groceries in my wagon. The local tavern owner served as the local loan bank, psychologist, marital counselor, life coach, and taxi driver for those impared. The sense of community was potent among the patrons. If I was walking home from somewhere and it was raining, I could stop in and buy a coke and a slim jim, sitting at a table. By the time I finished my coke, I had three offers of a ride home to stay out of the rain. (my parents didn't have a car)

About fifteen years ago I heard the tavern owner had been arrested for loaning money and keeping books on it. My dad told me he charged 3% to 10% depending on the family. It was always stuff like dentist bills, doctor bills, school tuition at the local catholic grade school, kids school clothes in September, etc....He died from heart failure while awaiting trial. The place turned into some fad sports bar. Sad.

One of the Southern Poverty Law Center's categories of terrorists that the Federal Government goes by is former Service men/women. And Congress passed a law giving Obama the authority to arrest without warrant and detain indefinitely without charges being filed or being tried.

We need to push hard for repeal. A dictator will always take a mile if you give him an inch.
