Defense lawyers have conceded that Holmes was the lone gunman but say he was in the throes of a psychotic episode, a claim his parents repeated in their statement.
He is a human being gripped by a severe mental illness, they said of their son, adding that before the mass shooting, he never harmed anyone and ... had no criminal history.

Tell that to the families of those he murdered. Let’s see how they see it. This is not Iran where those injured can forgive someone on the gallows even though liberals want it to be like that. If it was one of my family I would tell the parents: Tough, deal with it.

I don't blame the parents for fighting for their son's life. That's what parents are supposed to do.
But hopefully he's a dead man walking.

I second that. Hang him high and let his body drop so one can hear his neck pop.

What you have there is the human equivalent of a rabid dog. It doesn't matter if he was a cute little tyke once, you let him grow up to be dangerously crazy, so blame yourselves in part for what happen to him. The guy needs to fry, but blaming the parents because their child is insane is like blaming them because he has cancer.

before the mass shooting, he never harmed anyoneSounds like a new twist on the "Why is it that every time you lose something, you always find it in the last place that you look" tautology.
So, no harm, no foul I guess...

The parents had to see every step of his downward spiral; anti-social behavior, weapons hoarding, bomb making and booby trap designing. They chose to look the other way and not confront him when it was low level. Then it apparently reached the point when they were AFRAID to confront him. Now they expect society to give him a pass. Maybe the pseudo-justice department in CO will give him one; but I wouldn’t.

Colorado was ready to execute a truly depraved criminal, perp in a multiple homicide of completely innocent people, but our Democrat Governor gave him a “temporary reprieve” in 2013.

. . . adding that before the mass shooting, he never harmed anyone and ... had no criminal history.Yeah, if it weren't for that one killing spree, he'd be a perfect little angel!
To: BenLurkin
The parents have never denied his guilt and have always said everyone's sympathy should go to the victims and families.
No reports have been released, but the press has hinted that one shrink thinks he's legally insane.

Fry the bass turd. Do it for the the Bill of Rights, specifically the Second Amendment.

Dear parents of this monster: You failed as parents. Your son is a mass murderer. He needs to be offed. The shooter is clearly schizophrenic. His parents aren't to blame for this. I'd be very surprised if he gets the death penalty.

Put this rabid animal down for the safety of society. When he assumes room temperature, he will never harm anyone again and it does not matter what his mental illness might be. The “we can't execute him because he doesn't understand what he did was wrong” is exactly WHY this killer should be executed.

Egads, look at the “moon eyes” !
Same as that nutter that shot up that school in sandy hook...
same weird eyes.
