First it was that all atheists can go to Heaven. Then it was that communist economics is Biblical. Furthermore, he and the church believes theistic evolution--"God is not a magician." (God made everything, then everything made everything. Adam and Eve's parents were apes.) The church needs to dialogue about the Sacrament of Marriage concerning divorce and unnatural marriage. Basically, the church has become RC-Lite and "all things to all sheeple."
Now, he says that all dogs go to Heaven! What about other pets? Let me tell you that cat fanciers are being rubbed the wrong way! Rumors are that the Rev. "Meow" Sharpton plans to protest that "Roamin' Cat'lics are pets too" and should not be barred from Heaven!"

There is an expression, "Is the Pope Catholic," used to express certainty about something. I'm beginning to wonder about this Pope.
Back during the Papacy of Paul VI, when so many changes were introduced in the Church, the joke went around that he was hoping for an early death because he wanted to die a Catholic.
People have such silly ideas about the afterlife.
best not to try and figure it out, you’ll know soon enough.
It’s a matter of faith so you must believe it.
Did God have animals in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve when they lived in a sinless State? If so, why would you think that animals are definitely not going to be in heaven?
I think that God loves animals, it’s why he made them. I think they will be in heaven. Especially since God can put in heaven anything he wants.
The thought of being surrounded by many of the people in the afterlife who surrounded me in life...sounds like Hell...I want to be with my cats and horses...
FWIW, the Church has accepted “theistic evolution” since the 1950s.
I’m not Catholic, but that’s basically what I believe myself.
Adam’s and Eve’s parents were apes, eh.
I remember hearing Ben Carson debate someone on evolution. He said he had no problem if someone wanted to believe they were descended from apes or ape like because he was happy to believe he was created in the image of God.
This is bogus. It never happened.
He was comforting a child. To take this at anything other than that is putting words in His Holiness’ mouth.
There couldn’t be an agenda in play or anything, right?
By death came man, not vice versa like the Bible sez
Critters being in heaven is not a matter of faith.
No, cats do not go heaven... They already believe they are gods.
In Rev. 19:11-13 the Bible says, “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness does he judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called the Word of God.”
I guess there are horses in Heaven, so why not dogs?
I’d like to believe my first cat, Peaches, has the job of greeting cat lovers as they enter heaven. She was my greeter whenever anyone visited me. Not seeing her in the afterlife would be my hell.
It is one thing for any of us to have our own personal belief and/or hope that the pets we have loved do go to heaven, but there is no basis in old or new testament scripture or Christian theology for a belief that they do.
It should be left as one of those things only G-d knows and no man can be any authority on.
It seems unseemly to me, religiously, for any Christian leader to anoint that belief with their religious authority.
Thanks for posting that link. People are all too ready to jump on everything that they think the pope says.
In heaven the poop comes out in little cellophane packets.
