The thing that got me was how management tried to say it was the credit card company that added the extra amount. Dummies don’t know that the CC’s just charge what is presented to them by restaurants.

No doubt. That sounds like fraud, and if the establishment didn’t offer to investigate, or make the charge right, they are opening themselves up for a world of hurt, especially if a pattern emerges.
Thanks for your reply.

I am so glad I moved out of that state.

Well, I was just thinking of using cash.
I try never to write-in the tip on a bill, since learning years ago that some establishments don’t let the wait-staff keep their own tips, but make them divvy up the tips, and share “equally”.
But if I’m tipping someone, it’s for his or her *individual* performance. So I try to always carry “cash money” for tips.
(That’s a policy that’s come in handy in other areas, as well. Always carry a good supply of cash, in small denominations - at least as long as they let us ;-)

It used to be the American way, 'buyer beware'.
If you have a gripe on price or quality, don't do any more business with them. They'll quickly go belly up.
But now, too many want to run to court, the last place you'll find justice.
wearing you down over a minor refund or adjustment
Who's wearing who down, did you go to Harvard?

How did they manage the total amount that included the tip?

Yet another typical liberal Democrat screwing the little guy.
Not satisfied with a refund of the difference he asks for treble “damages”.
Glad the Chinese restaurant told him to FOAD.

I didnt believe in white privilege.
I think it is time to clarify our language. It is actually "Progressive Privilege." An example would be "Park your Progressive Privilege" (PPP) at the door. Hope that helps.
