I found Rome to be congested and dirty, but still well worth the trip. The history was amazing and I saw the Sistine Chapel after the renovation/cleaning. Impossible to describe. A definite must see in person.
I heard that.
Jamaica is on the list, you have to find and click the “read more” link at the source link. I’m not bagging on you, the navigation of that webpage is kinda crappy.
I loved Dubai. One of my favorite cities. I've been there 8 times, though not since 2007.
Yeah...the format on some Yahoo articles is horrendous. The most annoying ones are stories that are actually videos. Can’t stand that.
Went to Stonehenge and Venice. Liked both. Certainly not “disappointing.”
The problem, here, is defining a city as a place to visit. I've been to LA many times. I always find something to do when I'm not working ... but these are things that happen to be in or near LA. They'd be worth visiting if they were in or near any other city, or no city at all.
It's easy to see why a Marine would feel that way.I must admit that it was kinds cool being assigned (for a few months) at Fort Knox...as was General Patton.
Never been there, but I tend to agree. What’s funny is the description of LA being “the whole city is a lie.” Goes double for Vegas.
On Lake Superior?
Lived in LA since 59 on and off. San Diego now.
It’s a great family destination. Beach, D-Land Universal, Knotts. Down the Fwy world class zoo and Zafari animal Park, Legoland. Did I mention beach. World class and discount shopping. Missions Best theatre outside NYC. Great club and music scene. Architecture, museum including the Getty and Huntington Library. Warm winters usually mild summers near the coast.
I think these lists are meant to get publicity.
Anybody, do they let you inside the pyramids?
I’ve got a friend who, on his last trip to San Antonio, overheard a woman at the Alamo complaining about how disappointed she was that the idiots in San Antonio built the Alamo “downtown”. Hmmm. She must have been one of those Gruber Americans.
Venice is wonderful. Whomever wrote the article did not try very hard.
This is a good list. One place I would go back to (and do often) is the Oregon coast. Summer temps in the 60s, they consider it murderously hot if the temp ever touches 80. Rugged beauty. The people are nice.
Agree with Stonehenge. However Bath is nearby and a great Roman bath ruin. Good day trip from London.
I sued Delta Airlines!
Cuz they sold me a ticket to New Jersey!
I went there! And it sucked!!
