Athletes in Minnesota’s public schools who say they identify as the sex opposite their biological sex have won the right to shower with athletes of the opposite sex, as well as share locker rooms and hotel rooms.
On Thursday, the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) approved criteria that will create eligibility standards for schools to let transgendered students on single-sex sports teams. Students would be allowed to be on a team of the opposite gender if parents or guardians, as well as a health care professional, sign written statements affirming a student's “consistent or sincerely held gender-related identity.”
A draft form of the policy said that hormone treatments for males attempting to become female must have begun before any males may participate in female sports.
The debate over whether to allow transgendered students, especially males, to play on opposite-gender teams and use their restroom, locker, and travel hotel facilities lasted for months, and went through several draft forms. The final vote by the MSHSL board was 18-2, with one member abstaining and one member opposing.
The board member who opposed the change was Emmett Keenan, who said that he was concerned that the religious exemption was not enough. Additionally, said Keenan, "I’m not sure we’ve heard enough yet about the safety of girls in relationship to a transgender male-to-female playing on girls’ sports teams.”
The board had been expected to approve a draft proposal in October, but delayed a final decision until this week.
The board's decision was opposed by The Child Protection League, a grassroots organization of concerned parents, which put out a full-page ad stating: “A male wants to shower beside your 14-year-old daughter. Are you OK with that?”

Likewise, the Minnesota Catholic Conference has launched an online petition campaign listing numerous concerns with the policy. According to the Conference, the draft the board delayed a vote on "relies upon a contested view of gender identity confusion that could do students struggling with their gender more harm than good." It also violates Minnesota law related to "religious or conscientious objections" to the policy, says the Conference, and "could alter the competitive fairness in girls' athletics."
The Star-Tribune reports that in the meeting for the final vote, supporters and opponents packed the room. One supporter, OutFront Minnesota's executive director Monica Meyer, said, “All students want is a safe place to just be who they are. That includes in the classroom, on the court or field.”
League Executive Director Dave Stead said that while "a limited number of schools" told him that they "'don't like the idea'" of the new policy, discussions have led to those schools saying that they "'still don't like the idea, but I’m supportive of the initiative of trying to give us direction.'" Stead also said the transgender vote would not affect League membership.
At least a dozen states have similar athlete policies. In Minnesota, transgender eligibility will be decided by activities directors at individual schools, with an independent officer hearing appeals.

Law firms and social justice groups associated with defending the schools/idiotic laws/policies will likely enjoy the same fate once they push hard enough.
I don’t want to see this happen in America But Liberals brought it on us all with A: Muslims in the first place and B: Liberal idiocy like this. But it will not make me sad when it does...and it will...because actions have consequences. I’m not opposed to Muslim on liberal violence. They deserve whatever one does to the other.

They will instead surreptitiously undermine this, by forcing the leaders to live up to their own values.
A boy can claim to identify as female.
They will probably insist on psychological testing and interviews. These can be easily gamed. One just needs to read some literature on the topic to learn the “correct” answers.
If they insist that the boy wear women’s clothes (e.g. skirts, heels), he can point to the female student body, which in a public school undoubtedly wears casual clothing such as jeans and sneakers. Or he can claim to identify as a butch lesbian.
I almost wish I had a son in HS today. Plenty of these young guys are beyond fed up with the crap thats forced on them. I could easily see plenty of modern Eddie Haskel types and their likeminded fathers having an absolute ball turning this circus into a historical extravingaza of Biblical proportions. Which is what should happen.
People can say ‘you can’t use children like that”. My reply to that is “My your chains weigh -heavily- upon you.” HS guys are not ‘children’ to begin with. And I’d look at it as them taking a proactive role in their future.
Funny that an 18 year old led entire armies a couple times in history. I think it could happen again on a far smaller scale.
Every boy in school should announce they “identify” as being a girl and start heading to the girls’ showers. I would if I was a teenage boy again.
I’m too lazy to look this up, but I’m pretty sure it was Lincoln who said something to the effect that the best way to get rid of bad laws is by strictly enforcing them.
So, every boy who “thinks he’s a girl” must now be forced to shower with the girls. And all the Mozlem women will just have to realize that he’s really a girl despite the tallywhacker.
And this stupid law will be gone in no time.
And if the same principle were applied to health care, namely that every person in the nation, regardless of class, religious belief or social standing be obliged to live under it ..... then it too would be gone overnight.
I think it was him. And you are completely correct. A candidate with a brain would run on that very thing NOW and push it HARD. All the air in the room would be made up of Liberinos choking to death and insurance companies would bankrupt from all the collision induced backpedaling.
What about the rights of the real girls?
I worked with a young mother up in Chicago this past year - i finally moved out - anyway...she told me of the lower part of Chicago where she went to school...mostly Hispanic as she was - where one girls posse would gang rape other girl if their was a fight or offense made...certain parts of the high school she went to were off limits to other students...
public schools are out of control - and when controlled by liberal pedophiles - then stupid stuff like this rolls out...
I see students in the near future logging on a web chat room and sitting in the safety of their home attending class...I know my wife - who is a public school teacher is thinking of home schooling in a few yrs for our daughter once she retires...these events should not be occurring - let alone encouraged!
This just doesn’t affect public schools. It affects independent Christian schools not affiliated with a particular church.
Parents are going to have to make decisions — perhaps starting their own athletic associations.

Or simply get their kids interested in competitive sports where ‘team’ is not required or minimal. There’s a lot of them.
And I’m not coming at that from a “’oh! football is dangerous’ point of view. I’m all for getting them into Motocross, kart/car racing and plenty of other ‘dangerous’ sports. All f which go better with family involvement/Father/son/Mother/daughter stuff.
Today, ‘Team’ is just another name for groupthink/indoctrination activities and coercion. ‘Think right or don’t play.’ Nothing more.

There was a case in England where a Muzzie was blasing homos saying it was a sin. He was charged with a hate crime. So Homos have a higher trump card than Muzzies. Go figure, sex always wins in the end. The Muzzies will just have to homeschool like the Christians.
