As a homer for regional teams, I would have liked to see either Baylor or TCU make it but OSU's decisive win with a third string QB was impressive. And by putting the Buckeyes into one of the four slots, any ambiguity over picking the best team between the Frogs and Bears is eliminated.

I was really hoping Fl State would lose. Got to feel bad for whichever 2 teams that don’t make it.

Ohio State lost to a 6-6 team. TCU lost to a 11-1 team. TCU is in.

The Big Ten told Wisky to tank the game, to get OSU in, I’m convinced.

I guess Tom Herman wins the Broyles award. Does Urban get the coach of the year?

I would imagine THE OSU wouldn’t want to be in the top 4. Look at their record against the SEC. They don’t want Bama.

It’s outrageous that there is any talk of Baylor not being in.

Osu has no big wins. Wisconsin win just proves the big 10 is a joke.

Baylor beat tcu long ago and yet it never gets ranked ahead of tcu. Baylor beat a top ten team tonight and espn acts like the game didn’t even happen.

This system is absurd.

The Buckeyes were impressive tonight, but although they are my favorite college football team, they will end up on the outside looking in due to the loss to Virginia Tech early in the season.

They may deserve to be in the playoffs, but that one loss put them in the backseat to other teams that are still ranked ahead of them.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next 2 days, but as much as I love my Buckeyes, I don’t see how they can crack the top 4 with the results of this weekend.

In any case, next year should be another good one for THE Ohio State Buckeyes! :)

That’s just stupid. Ohio State got routed at home by the lowly Virginia Tech Hokies. No way in hell does any team that loses at home, let alone to a sub-.500 team from the ACC play in the national playoffs while Baylor and TCU go home. No way in hell.

OSU looked AmaZing.
Also, inserting OSU fixes the TCU Baylor conundrum.

If Baylor and TCU don’t make, they need to play each other again.

Bama
Oregon
Baylor
TCU
FSU

Think about it... everyone won, nothing changes.

EXCEPT one thing..

Baylor total body of work is now equal to TCU with it’s big win over Kansas State. Then the head to head kicks in an Baylor HAS to be placed higher than TCU.

That puts Baylor in the #3 spot.

Look at it this way. If Baylor had lost today would ANYONE be talking about TCU which was ranked #3 last week, and after winning today not being in the top 4? of course not! Thus the answer is easy. Baylor jumps into the #3 spot and everyone else moves down one.

Both Baylor and TCU make it into the top 4

“And by putting the Buckeyes into one of the four slots, any ambiguity over picking the best team between the Frogs and Bears is eliminated. “

Not having a playoff hurt both Baylor and TCU. The Big Twelve should get busy and bring two more teams into its conference. Also, the Big Ten TV market is huge and a demographic that simply can’t be ignored.
