The big win by the Buckeyes probably put them into the final four of the College Football Playoff. The rankings by the committee (due in about 25 hours) are likely going to be:
Tide
Ducks
Noles
Bucks
I would, too. But would you put in the Big 10=14 champion or Big 12=10 champion?
Frankly, at this point, I would shaft the Big 12=10 for declaring co-champions in the conference with the motto “One true champion”.
Hey now, SMU did win today.
I cannot say I am overly impressed with this schedule either.

I’m just glad I’m not on the committee. :)
You're as clueless as the Committee.
TCU had 61 points scored on them by Baylor, who had 58 points scored on them by TCU.
Neither belong in the bracket. Re_nortex has correctly seeded the bracket.
To THE OSU’s credit, they did beat a third-tier Arkansas, their only win EVER against the SEC...
Sat 10/11 Baylor @ (5) Baylor L 58 - 61.
The margin between the 8th and 9th best teams is even going to be less clear than the 4th and 5th best teams.
It’s outrageous that there is any talk of Baylor not being in.
Osu has no big wins. Wisconsin win just proves the big 10 is a joke.
Baylor beat tcu long ago and yet it never gets ranked ahead of tcu. Baylor beat a top ten team tonight and espn acts like the game didn’t even happen.
This system is absurd.
The Buckeyes were impressive tonight, but although they are my favorite college football team, they will end up on the outside looking in due to the loss to Virginia Tech early in the season.
They may deserve to be in the playoffs, but that one loss put them in the backseat to other teams that are still ranked ahead of them.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next 2 days, but as much as I love my Buckeyes, I don’t see how they can crack the top 4 with the results of this weekend.
In any case, next year should be another good one for THE Ohio State Buckeyes! :)
I may be right on the ranking but my math skills are below par. I just now saw that I typed "25 hours" in my initial post. That should have been, of course, 13 hours.
This is a case of the old way being better. Bama and Oregon and head and shoulders above everyone else.
I remember the Gators beating OSU in football, then basketball for National Champions.
s/b Bama and Oregon ARE head and shoulders above everyone else.
They’ve had a two game season.
I understand that. Just being nice.
Alabama
Oregon
Fla ST.
TCU
You mean, “The University of Florida at Columbus.”
(Has it really been that long?)
The way OSU has been playing lately, I believe they would be able to easily match up well against Alabama, and they would have a very good chance to win that game, no matter how much many people believe the SEC is the greatest conference in College football (which I believe is nonsense).
I only wish Bama could get a shot to destroy FSU, but it looks like Oregon will have to take care of them.
