More proof that little talent remains in Hollywood. What was the last truly great ‘original’ movie made after about 1999? Hell 90? There arent many.

New,movies were generally fun up until the very late 80s to me. I can take or leave them after that.

Thats a tough one.
‘The Matrix’ was a truly great original, but it was made IN 1999.
Technically, ‘Band of Brothers’ was a miniseries and not a movie, but it was made in 2001.
I’m struggling here...All I can think of is the cartoon ‘The Incredibles’, made in 2004. Yes, it is a cartoon, but it is probably the best cartoon ever made.

Saint Vincent is very good, a kind-hearted comedy about a bitter old guy, nicely played by Bill Murray. I thought Interstellar had some interesting science fiction aspects. The Theory of Everything is a nice "love conquers all" biography of Stephen Hocking.
There are almost always a few good movies. You have to wade through the muck and avoid the over the top Hollywood secnsationalism to find them.
