I don't see anything "classless" here. In fact, that's extremely conservative dress for kids these days. This Lauten woman seems like the kind of prig that gives Republicans a bad name.

I have to laugh at that picture. 13 and 15 and looking as if they would rather be anywhere but there! Been there, done that. We all have!

They don't seem as enthusiastic as Jay Carney's kids.

Yep, all we need while trying to shake the “War on Women” smear is for a GOP operative to come out and launch a “War on Obama’s girls”. Jeesh!

I agree. Both are dressed fine.

i’m sorry those short skirts are not extremely conservative. and i like short skirts on women. on teenage daughters, of the president, televised, no. no yardstick would rank them as extremely conservative clothing.

“I don’t see anything “classless” here.”

IMO, as a father and grandfather, those skirts are way too short and those attitudes way too obstreperous.

Déclassée on both counts, IMO.

They look like they don’t want to be there.
The skirts are definitely too short.

An inch above the knees (or longer) is more appropriate for an event of this type. These skirts are too short and one or more of the first family’s handlers should have mentioned it and encouraged other options for their clothing.

Nobody needs to see that much leg on a 13-year old.

The expression on their faces is like they’re again hearing more BS coming out of the man behind the podium.

As to their attire, it shows the state of the economy: Even the white hut cannot afford more fabric for skirts.

In my book, those skirts are way too short.

Those girls look absolutely mad about having to take part in this - if looks could kill. I don’t see anything wrong, however, with the way they are dressed. They are teenagers. Malia has her arms folded, which says - she isn’t the least bit interested in what is taking place. I guess they are just anxious for their Christmas vacation to Hawaii - or wherever Moochelle and Barry take them this year. Yes, people should leave the kids alone, but that didn’t stop the media for going after the Bush twins, did it?
