If you could go ANYWHERE in the world(Funding no object) where would be the Top 10 places you would LOVE to visit?
My first requirement would be no country in which the Muslim religion is predominant, or even large for that matter.
I guess if I could, I’d take that Iwo Jima tour if it is still operating.
1. Rome (2 month minimum)
2. Moscow
3. Israel
4. Australia
5. Malta
6. Istanbul
7. Virgin Islands (again)
8. Samoa
9. Washington DC (after Barry vacates)
10. Cholet, France
An untouched Kamchatka steelhead river. By myself with at least a 30-06 handy.
I’d probably go for a tour in Italy that included Monte Cassino.....my dad was there as well as Battle of Rome and I can still remember him talking about “Monte Cassini” as he always called it.
Island Beach State Park - summer
South Padre Island - winter
Don’t care for much after that.
Since I have recently been fortunate enough to see places I never thought I would get the opportunity to see, such as Normandy, Pointe du Hoc and Paris, and will visit Rome this April, I would have to say Thermopylae. Yes, definitely Thermopylae.
Wilderness areas.
Iceland
Australia
New Zealand
Sibera
Scotland
Brazilian rainforest
Next year I’m going to many places I’ve always wanted to go.
Poland (Warsaw, Krakow (including Auschwitz))
France (Paris and taking the trip up to Normandy)
Prague
Vienna
Budapest
No place I cannot carry full time.
And then (since I forgot to list them, and in no particular order): Alaska, Versaille, Site of the Battle of Issus, Mount Vernon, Nasca Lines, Giza Pyramids, Australia, Greece, Antarctica (yes, Antarctica!).
I haven’t been outside of Michigan in nearly 30 years. I like it here.
I smell something “Fishy” here!
Did you visit those places via river cruise? We took and Avalon cruise to Normandy, in April, and it was glorious We’ll never step foot on a large cruise ship again.
Number #1 on our list is Australia.
All the islands my Dad “visited” in WW2.
There are at least 10, probably more, but i grew up hearing about The island of Yap, where the money was made of stone and the ladies didn’t wear tops.
The Navy issued them all T-Shirts to cover up.
The Ladies LOVED the T-shirts, especially after they cut two strategically placed holes in the front!
Alaska next summer; Hawaii next winter (DW has never been to Hawaii). After that, we’ll see.
Other than New Orleans to see where my first American ancestors landed & for Mardi Gras & I’ve hit every place on my bucket list and then some.
The thing I would I love to do (and never can) is a 1963 Route 66 roadtrip in a VW, and see it as my folks did as newlyweds on their way to Dad’s next duty station (from Boston Shipyards to Oxnard, CA)
10. Cinque Terre, Rio Maggiore, Italy
9. Tuscany, Italy
8. Glacier Bay, Alaska
7. Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
6. Cruise the Rhine
5. Santorini, Greece
4. Palau Islands
3. Kauai, Hawaii
2. Jerusalem, Israel
1. Turtle Island, Fiji
