I do want to say something that I evidently didn’t convey in that post, I was surveying in Texas, the land of 6 foot fences, and Doberman’s were fairly common, this wolf thing that I was trying to convey was different than all of them, different from all of the dog experiences.

Wiking Odhinn’s Hund Von Der Wilde Jagd [Odin

Desdinova’s Magna Of Illusion [Seven]

Dear departed ‘Halla was “Wiking’s Cold Wind To Valhalla”

Odin was named for his more illustrious relatives and Seven and ‘Halla were named for BOC and Jethro Tull songs, respectively.

I almost named Seven “Wiking’s Billion Dollar Baby”.

We’ve had this discussion, before.

That’s why I no longer have Renfield.

He was an instigator and his life was in peril, because of that.

:(

The stalk is a briliant strategy normally seen in wild predators.

Fast movement spooks prey.

So, they move ~so~ slowly, intentionally, taking advantage of animal eyes being primarily motion-sensitive.

It really messes with my goats’ minds.

One minute, the dogs are all the way on the other side of the yard, and then seemingly, they’re right on the fence.
I don’t think the goats’ brains can track the semi-suspended animation thing.

They stalk me, too.

And I stalk them back.

:)

The head butt is a joyous, “hail, well met!” greeting.

*ouch*

Paradoxically, the Ibizans are more ambush predators.

They will surround the underbrush that they have detected prey hiding in and await the critter’s inevitable bolt.

And then they run them to ground.

I was wondering as that is usually how dobies respond to me.
(Besides the lean full weight on my leg while giving me that sad pathetic look.)

From literally half a block away my dog can tell when someone is drunk/drugged. He'll start growling. I don't know how he picks up on it so quick, he was a stray.

I have a friend who had an Akita.

He said they’re wonderful watchdogs but the interesting thing about them is that they’ll let a stranger in but not out.

He had a plumber friend who went into someone’s house to fix the sink and the dog was fine. He went to leave and it was another story. He was stuck under the sink for a few hours until the owners came home.
