Rape allegations against Cosby case of he said/she she she ... said and 15 women can’t all be lying

Full title: The rape allegations against Bill Cosby are a classic case of he said/she she she she she she she she she she she she she she, she said - and 15 women can’t all be lying

One of my favourite Twitter parody accounts is @TheTweetOfGod .

It's cheeky, irreverent, has over 1.6 million followers - and an unnerving ability to hit the proverbial nail on the head. Last night, it addressed the mounting Bill Cosby scandal with this tweet:

‘The rape allegations against Bill Cosby are a classic case of he said/she she she she she she she she she she she she she she said.’

Ain’t that the truth?

The total number of women who have claimed Cosby drugged and raped them is now 15. (The actress Janice Dickinson being the latest, yesterday.)

I’m not sure, but I think I recall that Bill Cosby has declined invitations to endorse or contribute to certain “Black” causes. Could this be extortion?

OK Piers....let’s assume that they aren’t lying ( which I am going ot grant them that they are probably not.

Let’s match your statements about Cosby versus what you have said about the TRIPOTUS Clinton raping Juanita Brodderick...you remember her don’t you? What about Paula Jones? Kathleen Willey?

Peirs, you are a leftist scumbag. STFU.

No one likes to be shaken down, and if there was no basis to the claims against Cosby, he would not have paid out. If nothing else, paying on spurious claims creates an inducement to more such claims, with the prospect of both financial loss and damage to reputation. In addition, wealthy people tend not to have millions sitting in their checking account but instead invest their money and put it in trusts as part of their tax and inheritance strategies.

I know he isn’t quite as forgiving toward blacks as many think he should be. (Not willing to make excuses for poor black behavior)

Why did they wait?

Cosby was rich and powerful in the industry and they didn’t all wait.

An actress from his sitcom filed a police report in 2000, the police didn’t write in his name and never contacted him, another woman who was drugged and raped in 2004 went to the cops and while the DA says the evidence was too little to convict, he believes the woman, in her case as 13 or so more women came forward willing to testify to his rape methods, he settled out of court with her.

This is a pretty diverse group of women with claims going back to the 60s, for instance Lou Ferrigno didn’t learn about his wife’s long past run in with Cosby until about 5 years ago.

A number of these women are like that, some you would recognize.

Dunno. Women can have many reasons for not coming forward.

I’ve paid money I did not owe in a legal action, because my lawyers pointed out that legal fees to continue to fight the problem plus my lost time would greatly exceed my savings when I won. Not IF I won, but WHEN I won. I took their advice and paid money I did not owe. I hated to do it, but it saved me a bundle.

There are a number of good reasons people may opt to settle claims, even claims without merit.

When Democrats or their beliefs are involved, yes, they can.

Cosby may be the lecherous type.

However, what bothers me is that in each of these complaints, the victims were aspiring actresses who would do anything to get a part. That one of them was underage means that she never should have been allowed to fly overseas repeatedly to stay in his hotel room at night. Apparently her parents condoned these activities.

Hollywood condones all kinds of deviant activities to reward their ‘stars’.

If what they claim Cosby did is true (drugging, raping) then it is also true that the girl was being pimped out by her parents and/or her agency.

Rape kits? DNA tests? Hospital reports? Where’s the evidence?

How about all those kids who were trained to say they were molested at that day care center?

Was that the one in Florida when Janet Reno was the prosecutor ?

but the 60’s did not ring true to me. The police at that time would have been eager to believe her story. They would have grabbed Cosby in no seconds flat, and probably slammed his head through a plate glass window to boot. Her explanation was from a more recent time, not then.

Absolute nonsense.

Cosby was a giant, he was doing the Tonight show in 1963 as a stand up comic, in 1965 he was starring with Robert Culp in 'I Spy'. In the 1960s he won three consecutive Emmys was selling comedy records and records of his songs with his own record label, he started the Bill Cosby show in 1969, his company produced films and TV specials, he was huge.

Care to compare the police reports, the out of court settlement, the statement of a DA who calls him a rapist that he couldn’t convict, and all the various women, against the evidence that we have on Bill Clinton and his single rape case? If you think Cosby is innocent, I can’t wait for you to blow me away with your claims of Clinton’s innocence involving Juanita Broaddrick.

No one likes to be shaken down...

I don't like going to the dentist,either...

...and if there was no basis to the claims against Cosby, he would not have paid out.

...but I learned long ago that failure to do so could have consequences that are acutely painful, far more painful than preventive visits.

If nothing else, paying on spurious claims creates an inducement to more such claims, with the prospect of both financial loss and damage to reputation.

And allowing a baseless claim to go to trial does what?

In addition, wealthy people tend not to have millions sitting in their checking account but instead invest their money and put it in trusts as part of their tax and inheritance strategies.

Cosby was worth a billion when gas was $1.25 a gallon and the most luxurious seaside mansion in Malibu could be bought for $10 million.

I doubt that Cosby settled because he didn’t want to waste money, I think it had more to do with the 10 or 13 women willing to also testify.

Constand had accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 2004.

“” Former (republican) Pennsylvania prosecutor Bruce L. Castor Jr., who investigated a woman’s claims that Cosby had sexually assaulted her in 2004, said Wednesday he decided not to prosecute because he felt there was not enough evidence to get a conviction.

“I wrote my opinion in such a way as I thought conveyed to the whole world that I thought he had done it, he had just gotten away with it because of a lack of evidence,” the former Montgomery County district attorney said.””

That’s correct. Cosby was huge in 1969. His star had waned a tad by the late-70s/early-80s, but then “The Cosby Show” pushed him into the stratosphere in terms of power and stardom, about as big as a celeb could get.

I really don’t get why some people seem to be under the impression Cosby is some kind of “conservative hero” for making a few common-sense ‘grandpa-ish’ criticisms about the negative directions of black culture. He didn’t even really get all that much negative flack from libs over his comments. It’s not all that different than the situation in which socialist John Cleese bemoaned how London has been overrun by foreign cultures and no longer seems British. Cosby is still a total, big-time lib and Obama-supporter, and his minor comments would hardly elicit some kind of bizarre political conspiracy targeting him for destruction.

I'm in no position to *know* if he's innocent...nor are you in a position to *know* that he's guilty. However,I think it's more likely than not that he is innocent.I base that partially on the fact that his public image...over decades...is that of a decent, respectable guy which either means that he actually is (and therefore is highly unlikely to have done these things) or he's an actor of such prodigious talent as to boggle the mind.

OTOH,BillyBob has never even bothered to pretended to be decent or respectable.
