Who is mentioned sometimes is Lucien Sarti, actually a Corsican (Italian, close-enough I guess).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucien_Sarti
“On October 25, 1988, the British television program The Men Who Killed Kennedy named Sarti as one of three French gangsters involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.[3] According to the program, Sarti, Roger Bocagnani, and Sauveur Pironti were contracted by organized crime in the United States.[3] In the French newspaper Le Provençal, Pironti denied the allegation stating he believed at the time of the assassination that Sarti was held in Marseille’s Baumettes Prison and that Bocagnani was in Bordeaux’s Fort du Hâ.[3]”
And other info on that webpage. Yes, Sarti has shown up in a lot of the assassination conspiracy theories.
Thanks BeadCounter. I appreciate the comments and link.
Ultimately, I’m not comfortable with most of these theories.
I can’t say they aren’t true. I simply can’t say they are either.
I take in what is mentioned and file it away.
I think that some of these theories grow legs, Secondary people hear about them and embellish them. Some people exploit it for money. Others are amateur sleuths and aren’t discerning enough. (perhaps)
There is a pretty good narrative on Oswald himself, the things he did, was supposedly consumed by, that lead a person to think he was the lone gunman too. I don’t buy into that either, at least not completely.
It’s one of those things we’ll probably never know the truth of.
I do have a very hard time thinking a guy with as high a profile as Johnson had, would have been involved in this.
