I agree with you. Bob Hope was the best there ever was.

Chevy Chase as Clark W. Griswold, Jr. was a performance for the ages.

My 4 year old granddaughter watches Mr. Bean skits on her I-Pad!

She has a very advanced sense of humor.

She also loves “The Pink Panther” and Betty Boop!

My favorite comedic actor is Tom Cruise. Many people don’t think he’s funny but I think he’s funny in a funny kind of way.

I would rank Buster Keaton in his prime at the top. Chaplin a close second up to maybe The Great Dictator. Hard to pick a third after those two giants whose work is fast closing in on the century mark. That means their work is no longer due to popular taste at the time of creation but morphing into timeless art. Now that I have thought about it Lucille Ball during the I Love Lucy run. So Keaton Chaplin Ball.

“He said okay, you’re ugly too.”

This being the punch line of my Favorite Joke Of All Time.

I left him off the list only because I’m not certain that you can technically call his appearance in any film that he was in “acting”. But the man just killed me every time I saw his act, never failed.

My other favorite: “I get home a little early from being on the road doing shows; I don’t want to go home just yet...so, I call a cab and tell the driver, “take me to where the action is!”. So, he takes me home!

This is a lovely thread. I’ve been smiling all the way down.

It’s impossible to list just three.

Christopher Lloyd as Reverend Jim on "Taxi." Two episodes in particular come to mind:

1. "Reverend Jim, a Space Odyssey": This was the episode that introduced him as a regular character, and featured the hilarious "Driving Test" scene.

2. "Jim The Psychic": Reverend Jim accurately predicts a number of events that come true, leading up to his big prediction that Alex is going to die at 7 PM on Thursday night.

Bob Hope was the best stand-up comic ever.

Try going into a war zone and just making the troops go nuts with laughter. He is a national treasure.

I can’t believe I forgot “Amos N Andy”.

The guys who played Kingfish, Andy, Calhoun, and Sapphire were just plain hilarious.

Curly of the Three Stooges—by far a true comic genius
Jack Benny
Jackie Gleason
