There have been actors that have made people laugh since the days of Charlie Chaplin. We all have our favorites whether it's John Candy is or Robin Williams. Who do you think are the three funniest actors of all time?
LBJ, Richard Nixon, geraldo ford, little jimmie/gimmie carter, new world order bush the tush, Russia’s Clinton, bush the tush jr, and the final product- the Kenyan half done commie by the USSR- B>Hussein Obama. We are in biblical moments.
Do you remember his “gull-wing” conversion?
Yeah, one of many great characters by Joe...never cared much for SNL, SCTV was the place to be. Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O’Hara...and last but not least...”the guy with the snake on his face”. Those were good times.
They went on to make funny movies. “Mighty Wind” was funnier the second time I watched it. Fred Willard was very good in them. But, he’s got in trouble in real life, or something.......
Don’t forget Martin Short as Ed Grimley. He crossed over from SCTV to SNL.
Great cast, great writers.
I can’t believe no one has mentioned...OSCAR LEVANT!
Oscar Levant was a terrific pianist, (he was close friends with George Gershwin, after Gershwin’s death, Levant became one of the finest interpreters of Gershwin’s piano works..) he was also a composer, author, comedian and actor.
He was a panelist on INFORMATION PLEASE, (a radio show in the ‘40’s and ‘50’s)..where he quickly became famous for his witticisms..he probably was a genius too.
Of course, he had serious mental problems as well..he was truly dependent on drugs to stay sane..but, in spite of all that; Levant was simply hilarious. Here’s a few of his one liners -
“There’s a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.”
“A dollar saved is a quarter earned.”
“Happiness isn’t something you experience; it’s something you remember.”
“I’m a study of a man in chaos in search of frenzy.”
“Schizophrenia beats dineing alone.”
“Once I make up my mind, I’m full of indecision.”
“Every time I look at you, I get a fierce desire to be lonesome.”
“I have given up reading books; I find it takes my mind off my self.”
“Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.”
I was just a kid in the late 50’s..but I’ll never forget seeing Oscar Levant on THE JACK PAAR SHOW..performing Gershwin, and cracking wise.. he truly was hilarious!
Doctor Gene Scott?
Groucho Marx
Johnathan Winters
and I’ll have to think about the third.
Winters may not stay on my list either.

Was Victor Borge his protégé?
How about Jerry Lewis playing a German general on "Which Way To The Front?" (a real gigglefest)
Great choice. I would add Bob Newhart.
Buster Keaton
Red Skeleton
Bob Hope
“Ernie Kovacs”
Definitely one of the greats. Boy are you old....
Don Knotts
Tim Conway
Gene Wilder
