A gay bull has been saved from slaughter by the only person who could have truly understood the ridiculousness of the situation the co-creator of the Simpsons.
Benjy the bull was being prepared for the chop after vets said his sexual orientation was the reason he wouldnt breed.
Thats when Sam Simon, who helped start cult cartoon comedy, stepped in.
All animals have a dire destiny in the meat trade, but to kill this bull because hes gay wouldve been a double tragedy, said the 59-year-old producer who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
After being told he was dying in 2012 he vowed to give away his $100million (£64m) fortune to charity and thankfully for Benjy, his plight struck a chord with him.
Simon added he was thrilled Benjys fate lied in a sanctuary rather than a sandwich.
The bull should be in his new home by Christmas.
Simon was told about Benjys situation by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).

CC started it.
:-P
You really made me work for that.
That’s why we get along so well.
No class.
:D
They caught him decorating the barn.
Bengay’s former boyfriends may be why a certain well- known fast food burger now causes me to belch. If he HAS to be gotten rid of, please don’t sell him to the burger outfit. How about peddling him off to Florsheim instead?
He’s going to an animal sanctuary. Or so they say...
So he’s being put out to pasture to rape other bulls???
I believe the bull wouldn’t breed because he was choosing to remain celibate until marriage. He didn’t want to be used as a tool for sex and his self respect wouldn’t allow him to perform.
Either that or possibly the cows all looked too much like Moochelle.
Like Boxer in Animal Farm?
or...
Moo!...
[FABULOUS!]
*BANG*
thud
*innocent_whistling*
That’ll work.
> Either that or possibly the cows all looked too much like Moochelle.
Celibacy is the rational alternative.
If we were any more classless we’d be a Marxist utopia.
A fool and his money...
Why Benjy wouldn’t breed ...
This might not apply, but, a few years ago we had a neighbor who bragged about going out west and getting a hot bull to bring home and upgrade his beef herd.
He bought it as a calf and fed it all winter.
Turned it out with the cows and nothing happened.
Had the vet out.
Vet pointed out helpfully that nothign was happening because the bull had been castrated as a calf. The neighbor was sent the wrong calf.
Benjy might have been something like that.
Benjy looks like a steer.
Sounds reasonable, at that.
This calls for a celebration: http://youtu.be/HyGp98Xoq9g
