Radio reporting Gillespie going to throw in towel. Do we know which precinct in Fairfax turned in the final votes that put Warner over the top? Seems pretty suspicious, when Gillespie was ahead right up to that point, then Fairfax turns in just enough for a Warner "win".
People aren’t forced to vote for Sarvis. The Cuccinelli-McAwful exit polls showed that the Sarvis vote would have been split about equally between Dems and Reps had he not been in the race.

And, Broward County in Florida. On election night, when the rest of the counties were counted at 100%, Broward was still at 17%. (Around 11:00) Broward voted something like 4-1 against Scott. That's why it took so long to declare Scott the winner for Governor.

You're forgetting, what now may be the Democrats' greatest source of illegal votes: non-citizens, including legal immigrants.

Who is ignorant/dishonest enough to claim that a Democrat win in Virginia, by such a small margin, would not have very likely been decided by non-citizen voters - with the help of the ACLU.

I hold no brief for the pernicious effect of the Two Party System. However, since there is no effective Left wing counterbalance to the Libertarians and other Third Party candidates who CLAIM to be on the Right, it is the height of foolishness to vote for them and thus assure the Democrats electoral victories.
It is called life. One must be mature enough to deal with ambiguity in politics and yes, that all too often means selecting the lesser of two evils. The spoilers serve the greater of the evils available in an election.
E.G., I loathe Mitt The Mormon Milquetoast, but I certainly cast my vote for him. Would he, though the namby-pamby squishy RINO he most certainly is, have done The Republic less harm than The Mombasa MF has done? Choice: Mitt or Barry. Pick one.
They already threw in the towel seven months ago when they chose not to challenge the registration of 40,000 voters who are dually registered to vote in Maryland. Take away those 40,000 votes, and Gillespie wins easily.
The only way to save Fairfax County is to blow up the bridges across the Potomac. All of them.
The thing that just pi$$es me off is that we are going to have to fight with bullets because the GOP wouldn’t fight for ballots.
Which is why results should not be posted until all votes are in.. That way there’s no way to know how many votes need to be manufactured to win.
I am convinced that the Virginia GOP actually wants the Dems in power. I am still fuming at how they worked feverishly raising money in the Commonwealth for the Cuccinelli election, only to send that money to New Jersey instead.
It was still encouraging though to see the rest of the state turn even more republican. Augusta and Rockingham counties went over 70% GOP, and SW VA was a sea of red as well. All it would take is to purge the voter rolls in Loudon, Fairfax, Alexandria, and Prince William counties of all voters dually registered in Maryland.
Don't you mean those six counties since it is a proven fact that people living in the People's Republic of Maryland are driving across the river on election day to vote in Virginia elections.
I'm not a formal card-carrying member of the Republican Party, either; I am registered to vote as a Republican. As such, I can (theoretically) influence the actions of the Republican Party. We "Republicans" can have our best effect by picking intelligent, solidly constitutional conservative, articulate candidates who can take our message to the voters. We must then support these candidates, all the way up from grunts like you and me to the national leadership. This will encourage conservatives who are completely disgusted by the current state of affairs to come out and vote. This will 'siphon off' some of the Libertarian votes.
We can't make the Libertarians go away; we can't make the demonicrats go away. We can and must make them irrelevant.
Complaining about the Libertarians does no good.
