MCALLEN, Texas -- The leader of a border militia group who was arrested earlier this week on federal weapons charges had a suspected explosive device in his room, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas show. Federal agents arrested Kevin KC Massey earlier this week at a local motel in the border city of Brownsville.
When agents searched his room they discovered an ammunition can filled with ammonium nitrate and fuel, an inventory of the items seized by agents with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives show. Agents also seized an AK-47 with six loaded magazines, a loaded handgun and various other items including camera and computer equipment.
Both Massey and Forrester were arrested this week and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm after federal agents discover d that both men had prior felony convictions and could not own the weapons that they had during the shooting incident.
Massey is expected to be in court later this week for a detention hearing while Forrester is expected back in court next week. Both Massey and Forrester have requested court appointed attorneys claiming they dont have the funds to pay for one.

False Flag?
Nah, those guys screwed up. Seriously screwed up. What were they thinking?
Thinking they weren’t going to get caught, obviously.
Maybe he just wanted to be prepared.
The Mexican gangs which profit from delivering the invaders into our nation are made up of some seriously dangerous people.
If they had ammo can full of ammonium nitrate mixed with fuel, they are lucky to still be alive
Tannerite...bought at every sporting good store in America abouts.
When agents searched his room they planted er discovered an ammunition can filled with ammonium nitrate and fuel.
“If they had ammo can full of ammonium nitrate mixed with fuel, they are lucky to still be alive”
It needs a high intensity detonator for it to do anything other than burn.
It was probably Tannerite, not ANFO anyway.
By the way....I bet that they found the dreaded entertainment explosive tannerite:
They had felony convictions. Owning an assault weapon was forbidden for them. And then a bomb? Seriously? What were they thinking?
Along with a couple of militia members a few weeks back leaving/then one retrieving a loaded handgun left in a local eatery bathroom in the Brownsville area, this IS what gives the modern day militia movement a bad reputation.
The majority of folks that belong to these movements are upstanding, law abiding, hard working folks.
Their biggest chink in the armor....they fail to fully vet candidates wishing to become involved in their groups. They end up becoming the death of themselves.
Background checks guyz....background checks. Don’t just let any ol yahoo come on in unless they’ve been adequately vetted. Felons and guns...big no bueno!
Didn’t take them long to nab these guys; interesting.
I told everyone (not y’all specifically) that this militia group was giving us a bad reputation by not following standard protocol or even using common sense. This is the same guy who was arrested in August for being in possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
IIRC, the militia group said he was not welcome back when he was arrested in August with the firearm. The media, including Breitbart, sure seem inclined to paint militia as crazies. These incompetent, wannabe yahoos are helping them. Intentional? I don’t know.
Well, OK. But what about the semi-automatic rifle that did have?
I am wondering if the words “search warrant” were used in the article. I don’t click on Breitbart anymore because of past viral experience.
Don’t ask me. I’m non-violent, man. Peace and love, man. Peace and love.
Yup. Some of these guys are trouble and we should be vigilant about policing ourselves. In this case I think these guys may just be stupid rather than intentionally dangerous.
On the flip side, the Michigan militia were the first to spot Tim McVeigh as potentially dangerous and contact the FBI.
A good point indeed.
One of the Hutaree members who was arrested in 2009 was at the post office when I wandered down there this morning.
I was so frightened I peed a little. /s
