Pre-planning thread to bounce ideas around for venues and itinerary.
Info posted is tentative.
Date: TBD (May 2015?)
They are some homos then.
Maybe a Pizza party Friday evening?
(crawfish ain't my thang...)
I guess it’s all about security...
...but this ain’t exactly a resort!
Besides.. we could have a thousand pound of crawfish
and they ain’t but a labor-intensive appetizer.
Love ‘em, want ‘em.. but they ain’t filling fatboy up.
Maybe we should talk to them about that.
“non-registered guest visitors” needs to be defined.
Perhaps the nature of our event needs to be explained..
If they find that objectionable then they ain’t our kind of folks anyway.
But they might be.. huzzah for recon.
non-registered guest visitors means ya ain’t with anyone stay’n there!
I explained the nature of the request...she said we could look at the pics that are online...pert rigid they are!
Glad I found this.
I was hoping we’d do that. We celebrated NYT’s birthday on the first shoot, too. :)
In Austin.
Me = 5/29
Mrs. thackney = 5/25
The lady I talked to yesterday said there would be no problem with us coming to look at their grounds.
I’ll call back tomorrow to clarify.
Sheesh...I can’t keep any secrets! :)
Good luck!
Thanks, but we didn't want to impose on you, and we were thinking that more folks would take some. Didn't want to be greedy, you know.
I should note that I specifically asked if we could see inside the Grand Lodge and some of the cabins...she were rigid!
Let me know when and how much and I’ll help you pay for the margarita mix. That’s gonna leave a mark in your wallet. :)
Talked to Nancy at Jellystone. She said there wouldn’t be a problem with us checking out the grounds on a Saturday, but they did not allow folks to see the inside of cabins.
Still waiting to hear back from the range folk.
Back it up with pics.
5/5, 5/12, 5/19. It all makes perfect sense. No wonder we get along so well. That and we're just super awesome folks. ;p
What do you think about setting up a GoFundMe page or using PayPal or something ahead of time for food costs? With attendance on the rise, gathering cash at the shoot will get tedious. Might make it easier to purchase stuff beforehand. Just a passing thought.
Also, if it’d help, I volunteer to keep a spreadsheet of (& share) who’s bringing what and how much so we’ll know what we have and don’t waste food. We could also keep track of equipment & kitchen stuff. Charlie needed a second camp stove, which I could’ve brought, and I could’ve brought extra chairs, tables, blenders, mixers, serving bowls, etc. if I had known we’d need them.
