Well...who would want to spend 21 days in NJ under any circumstances?
It was her choice to come back at this time. She could have stayed over there. She acts like she wasn’t already living in a tent in those third world countries. Next time, we’ll be sure to rent out the Hilton for her.
Just wait until these arrogant people start flying into countries that have direct routes into our smaller airports. Or they’ll be booking cruises back to the US to avoid the quarantines in NY.
“The premise of your question is “without cause” and there was cause. She has no grounds to be upset whatsoever.”
Yes there was cause to detain her, she deserved to know why.
Its kinda there in the Constitution thing ya know.
Or do you propose the govt should be able to detain any citizen they want indefinitely without justification or explanation?
In my international travels the only ‘rude’ govt officials I have experienced with in any country were the US customs officers.
Did she miss her bowling night?
Beautiful story. I’ve been there a few times.
Think about that. Newark, NJ in the winter should be loads of fun in a tent when quarantined. Where did this administration think they were going to accomodate all the travelers who will be required to be quarantined upon arrival? Who are they going to hire to enforce this quarantine against travelers who are going to be less cooperative than this nurse?
The five airport hubs with enhanced screening are
Where are they going to accomodate all the passengers held for quarantine? Tents?
To the actual Peninsula? Did you take the Mule Ride Down the mountain?
That is on my Bucket List.
This woman is a whiner and complainer. Sorry ‘bout the chaos;
that’s not good. Not sorry ‘bout the detention and $$ spent to insure
your well being and ours. It should have been perfectly obvious to you why you were being detained!
Mere hours after the announcement she’s luck to have a tent.
Reasonable suspicion that I could have came in contact with an Ebola patient is “with cause”.
I'm sure this is true of the majority of aid workers. This quote from Mrs. Cuomo seemed just a bit "dense" to me though since what she talks about here is exactly what happened in NYC recently, via an aid worker (an MD no less) who did precisely that: "ran around and possibly exposed people" until we knew.
One of the huge failings of Obama. Should have established hospital space for quarantine.
What kind of nurse doesn’t understand the purpose and value of a quarantine?
She wasn’t detained without cause. She had direct contact with ebola patients. Even she doesn’t know if she was exposed. A 21 day quarantine upon arrival protects the rest of us, too.
And she’s a nurse? She of all people should know what’s at stake here.
That’s not true, he came back to honolulu July 10th 1886 a couple years after he was infected and was treated there for Leprosy by Dr. Masanao Goto

I admire missionaries but some of these modern day travelors are in it for the prestige and the self promotion....
She’s not......
.....just a liberal ingrate (imo)
Amazing, isn’t it? The selflessness and the bravery alone, but to literally sacrifice himself so willingly like that, that is amazing and worth a sainthood.
