YouTube ^

Posted on 10/24/2014 3:38:31 AM PDT by Din Maker

You've got to see this Ad and pass it on to your kids and grand kids. It's in a theater in Hong Kong among unsuspecting theater goers.

Click on YouTube above or the Direct Link I will try to post in Comment #2 box. It's worth your time and could save a life...... probably yours.

I took it as “they were distracted from their view of the screen/road when they went to check their incoming message”.

I doubt they thought anyone on the screen was contacting them.

You’re right, this isn’t like drunk driving. My rear impact collision occurred at 10am on a Saturday. Most drunk driving accidents are much later in the evening.

And the standard of “drunk” doesn’t mean performance impaired. And it’s headed even lower.

Exactly ... it isn't a driver/passenger thing ... it's the conditioned reflex of

check yer phone ... it's ringin'

Can someone explain to me how a theater was able to send a text to a bunch of people just because they connected to the Wi-Fi? And how did they just happen to film a group of people that almost ALL left their ringers on?

They asked the audience to leave their cell phones on in non-silent mode. Then they used an IMSI catcher (a fake mobile tower) to call all the phones in the theater just before the crash on the screen. At a couple of points in the movie, you'll notice they cut to the person operating the IMSI catcher from a laptop.

You are a f***ing fool. Don’t even bother posting to me. I hope you get killed in a horrible traffic accident while texting.

Right after I die from global warming.

There are no studies that show that banning texting while driving reduces accidents in any group except the most inexperienced teen drivers.

I’m not convicted to change my life based on the passionate pleas of do-gooders that nevertheless have no scientific basis behind their strident demands.

BTW, you may see me texting while driving a bulldozer around town.

Not just a bulldozer ... an armored bulldozer. LMAO.

Here in the United States of America it's customary to wait until someone actually does something wrong before we prosecute them. This is the flaw with both BAC limits and prohibitions against using cell phones while driving.

If we were really interested in minimizing risks and outlawing things based on what MIGHT happen, we'd all be huge fans of gun control, wouldn't we?

No, I don't see that connection.
