The short story? School tells you your boy is ADD or ADHD so they force him to take Risperdal, thus he becomes a little girl.

A shout out to FReeper Donna for filling me in on this!!

They can’t force anyone to take anything. The parents have to sign off on it. Unfortunately, parents sometimes don’t know their rights.

These drugs suppress dopamine, and increase prolactin levels.

I don’t understand why someone would put a child on these drugs long-term. The prolactin side effects are the least of the negative effects.

A recent study showed that long-term use of benzodiazapines (e.g. Valium) results in greater risk of Alzheimer’s type dementia.

Once again, a potentially beneficial therapy for acute use is found to have negative effects when used long-term.

Yea they’ll sue the hell out of the drug companies but the educators that pushed these drugs will skate.

Risperdal saved my son’s life. He is diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder. He has not had any such side effects.

The mentioned lawsuit is but a small part of the picture. Texas settled for over $150 million, the Fed settled for over $2 billion on this same drug...... There are many more lawsuits and none of the settlements admitted guilt. Thus they just pay off the party and continue to promote the drug.

These drugs are dangerous as all of the atypical antipsychotics are. The side effects are horrendous and it is black boxed in the PDR for senior citizens. However, it does not create the tardive dyskinesia side effect found in the non atypical drugs, thus younger patients tend to prefer it.

These drugs block a persons ability to resolve issues and/or develop in the emotional aspect of consciousness. My observations of people using atypicals is that the right prefontal cortex or emotional executive function is overactive. This causes a short term memory focus and decreases the ability for long term focus or planning.

I use the analogy of a person sitting in the back seat of a traveling car getting sick due to focusing on all the scenery that is flying by as they look out the side window. If they are in the front seat the focus is down the road and the scenery does not effect them. This same consciousness pattern is observed in schizophrenics as it is as though they are stuck in the back seat and have no ability to focus down the road. (Note: the same thing is true for sea sickness as if you look at the horizon rather than close to the boat the sickness often diminishes) It appears to be a malfunction of the neural signals in the area postrema that causes this as I observed frequent headaches just under the cerebellum in the top of the neck, center in back utilized as a defense mechanism.

I am right now working with a man in his thirties who has schizophrenia. It’s my first time for a full case study. I’ve found attributes that I have never seen in people and am now formulating a plan to resolve it. The dopaminergic pathways are only a part of it.

I work with consciousness flow patterns. I’ve found a strong horizontal pattern with minimal vertical. A sense of self was never developed due to negative stimulus during key development stages. It takes two traumas to create this pattern. One at age 2 to 3 yrs old creating internalized fear and one around 7 to 8 creating learned helplessness at the stage when a child normally begins to develop the logical aspect of consciousness that leads to a healthy ego identity.

All children have psychic abilities that diminish as the logical aspect of consciousness develops and creates a reception block to the voices. In schizophrenia the inability to develop this individual ego identity facilitates the development of a dependency identity surrounding the identity of the voices.

A few years ago I was working with a woman and I removed the source of the voices and she went into a deep dark depression as her entire identity was based upon the external voices. She had no identity of her own and ended up reversing the work. This time I am building a healthy sense of self in this man to facilitate rebellion against the voices just as a teenager rebels against their parents to formulate their own identity. It appears to be working but it has been three weeks and I see a few more to complete resolution.

I tell him that it is ok to hear voices.
It is ok to talk with those voices.
It is ok to argue with those voices.
IT IS NOT OK TO LOSE ARGUMENTS WITH THOSE VOICES!

Validation of the individual apart from the dependency identity is the key component to helping a person in these situations.

“thus he becomes a little girl”

This is due to blocking or delaying puberty as the shift from the androgynous child to gender specific consciousness and attributes is blocked. In essence they remain the emotional child as an adult.

I have Osteoprosis among many other health issues.

This is the FDA Warnings I NEVER received when the doctor was trying to prescribe them. I had already reacted to a sample of Fosamax. So I said HELL NO! I had time to look them up before my next visit.

FDA WARNINGS OP DRUGS

WORST OF THE OP DRUGS RECLAST NOT TO BE GIVEN TO ASTHMA PATIENTS.

Reclast UPS kidney failure, A FIB risk.

Like most useful medications, Forteo may have its possible downside. In animals, it promotes the development of “osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.” ‘In humans, osteosarcoma has not been reported but it remains a concern with Forteo.’ (The daily injections are also a downside, they REVERSE themselves after the 18-24 month treatment and you go back on Fosamax)

RECLAST is the most DANGEROUS AS IT CAN REMAIN IN YOUR SYSTEM FOR LIFE.

I had to check after reading tired&retired’s post because I read that PTSD is very similar neurologically. Sure enough there are clinical trials for this drug to use for PTSD.

Just what our military and others need.

I’m going to try and open a business and it will have a book store for PTSD sufferers (and against hopelessness). Because so many meds can make these symptoms worse for the young (18 and 19 year olds have been through combat) how can I produce a brochure or form that has the most commonly used meds showing their side effects and withdrawal hazards? Also, knowing that suggestion can cause the reaction like a placebo, how do I find out the rates for placebo without having access to the actual studies?

Risperdal is a very effective drug. Gyynomastia is a rare side effect and stops as soon as the medication discontinues.

A lady in our church is facing this, sadly, from a teacher in a Christian private school. Idiot teacher has “diagnosed” her son as ADHD and says he needs to be medicated. Her problem with the boy is that he finishes his work way ahead of the other kids, then doesn’t just sit in his seat and politely wait for everyone else to finish their work. She calls this “being intolerant of others.” Mind you, this is first grade, and the boy is 6 YO. I told mom I think it sounds like a really bright kid who is bored out of his mind and a teacher who doesn’t want to make the effort to challenge him. A group of the ladies in our Bible Study are trying to help her learn to be an advocate for her son, to stand up for him. To a person, we’re all saying do not let them medicate him.

Late to the party, but I must remark: as somebody who takes Risperidone, and has taken it in the past, it doesn’t turn you into a girl; it just makes your body do embarrassing things.

FD: I already had man-bewbs before I started taking this stuff, but having to go back on it because my current insurance doesn’t cover Rexulti certainly does not help things.
