Didn’t George Brett play for them? As long as there are no Yankees I’m good.

I heard a rumor that someone on Free Republic was going to jinx the Royals by posting a rumor that they were bound for the World Series before the game was over.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a vanity posted in breaking news.
Certainly not one titled vanity, and with less information.

8-0 in the postseason, and 7-0 against the two best teams in MLB. Baseball has a long history, and yet every year there’s some new history.

Tell Freddie Patek that I am happy for him. I have never seen a player so disappointed when the Yankees beat them up in the late 70’s.
To: centurion316
All I care about is that the Cardinals aren’t in it.

Yes, congratulations to the Royals and their fans, but the World Series has become meaningless. Honestly, I probably won't even watch it. There were 162 games in the regular season, and not one of the teams who went through that grind and won their division will go to the WS this year. The two teams who clawed their way to the top of their leagues over those 162 games, the Angels and the Nationals, were eliminated in the Division series. Baltimore and LA were likewise eliminated. If you provide a path to the World Series for a team that gets hot for only the last three weeks of the playoff season, you make the last six months of the regular season pointless.
TV is to blame. By creating division playoffs among three divisions, which necessitated a wildcard, and then by adding a second wildcard, TV has brought in more TV revenue, but the WS is the loser.
