I will agree that suit procedure reduces the risk of spread of ebola.
The partner also touched the guy’s skin with his glove. Also, taking the gloves off, leave a bit of “inside-out” glove (clean side) on the first hand to take off the second glove.
Someone did a study with those wipes. In most households it ends up SPREADING the germs. You need to use a lot of them, otherwise you end up wiping the knob on one door and transferring them to another.
A kiddie pool with a garden pump sprayer and bleach solution would be more effective.
Yep. Very observant. And these are the people demonstrating how to use the suits.

Yup. That’s why you usually setup the bleach wash station, clean off the outside of the suit before removing. Of course then you have the challenge of where to put the station, you don’t want people wandering all over in those things. Life is much easier when you get to quarantine a whole building.
What are needed are those ‘step in’ suits, from... was it ‘Andromeda Strain’? Where the suit stays with the patient in their bubble, and the healthcare workers step in and out from the back. Anything less and the potential for contamination is always there.
Or how about this for an idea? STOP LETTING THIS DISEASE INTO OUR COUNTRY!!!
Also, not quarantining known exposed people is criminal. Assuming they are not contagious and then trying to backtrack once they start showing symptoms is stupid. This is what happens when a disease is handled by people who do everything with a political slant.
We are doomed, doomed I tell you. /drama (maybe)

Even to my untrained eye, I would NOT want that guy to be my partner. He touched the future Ebola victim’s right arm when pulling down the sleeves. Those clorox wipes (?) sure don’t last that long in my house but then I do a more thourogh job. The FEV (future Ebola victim) stepped out of the trashcan and onto the contaminated floor. The partner then touched the trashcan when he removed the liner. The FEV walked across the contaminated floor and out the door. Who opened the door initially and with how many viruses on their gloved hand? They should be following Africa’s example of spraying down the PPE before attempting to take it off. But what do I know. I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn.
They used medical tape which was probably that paper stuff. Scotch tape, being plastic, would have sealed them better.
What they didn’t show was after all that the pt’s call light went on with these words:”I need to use the bathroom”.
Having taught the 40 hour hazmat first responders class I was surprised they did not have a shower set up for initial decon. A garden sprayer filled with bleach mix would work also if you are sure to collect the residue for disposal.

I have zero training in this area but was able to see flaws. Seems those making this video would have a better understanding.
I agree. In the video I've seen of African health workers, you see them spraying and scrubbing down their protective suits.
A wading pool with shower curtain assembly around it and a WalMart sprayer like below.
Immerse your gloved hands in a bucket of bleach, have your partner spray you all around while you're standing in a wading pool with a few inches of bleach, scrub suit with bleach-soaked brush, THEN step to a second station where you take your outer layer off like in the video.
I wonder, for how many years have government staffing decisions been made according to the perceived politics of the applicant, rather than the competence of the applicant?

We have government expansion when democrats are running the show. They create more government jobs for people that politically think like they do.
The biggest job growth over the last six years has come in the Washington DC area. These folks will be useless bureaucrats for years to come. They are not willingly going to let go of power.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Thanks for the ping!
