Its official: Apples invitation to media outlets has confirmed they will be holding a special media event on Thursday, October 16, 2014.
No word, yet, on whether Apple will attempt a live streaming broadcast of the event. If so, hopefully, itll go better than their last attempt.
Rumors and speculation call for new iPads, including a svelte new A8-powered iPad Air with Touch ID, and new Macs, including the possibility of a new 27-inch iMac with Retina display and maybe even a new Mac mini.
Also expected is the public release of OS X Yosemite, so we all finally get some Continuity into our lives between our Macs and iPhones, iPad, and iPod touches.
And, as always, the possibility of one more thing looms.
MacDailyNews will offer live notes that day starting at 10am PDT/1pm EDT. Check our home page that day for the article link!
It makes all sorts of sense. Most of us don’t need any more power than a year old machine provides anyway. So why help fund our problems?
It’s just consumerism and ego. What do we want more? an end to Liberalism or new I toys?
As you say, conservatives should worry about Microsoft and Google, not Apple. I have previously reminded this other guy that Microsoft and Google are the leftists, while Apple is moderate.
Microsoft among the top ten companies making the largest political donations, in their case millions mostly to leftists.

A list of Fortune 100 companies funding leftist liberal causes. Note that Apple is not among them. Dont do business with Ford, Aetna, Albertsons, AT&T, B of A, Cisco, GM, Home Depot, Chase, MetLife, Pepsi, WalMart etc.!
Not true. That was FUD spread in attempt to curtail sales on the first weekend. One absurd report claimed that the first 400 people in line at the Soho store were all Asians flown in from China and spoke no English!
But, there were dozens of videos from local TV crews and reporters interviewing members in the lines showing the people are varied ethnicities representing the mix of the cities where the Apple stores are located. None were Chinese shills.
Besides, IPhone 6 and 6+ were locked to cell phone carriers. By policy, Apple was not selling unlocked iPhone 6es at all, either on line or at the retail stores. T-Mobile iPhone 6, available in limited numbers, were essentially "unlocked" but buyers had to sign-up for T-Mobile service for 44 days minimum and pay connection charges. Plus full price. Apple was refusing any sales that appeared to be straw sales for export. Unlocked iPhone 6 were not available at all until China approved sales in China and a delivery/distribution date was set in stone. China customs were siezing phones at entry.
On the other hand, some of them probably are basement-dwelling, college educated layabouts who are probably line sitting for capitalists for a fee. Grin.
These so called “media events” with geeky Apple (and/or Microsoft) executives standing on a stage showing off their latest products are among the most ridiculous things I have ever witnessed, all the way back to Steve Jobs on stage showing off his first computer to an oohing, fawning audience. What nonsense.
Perfect! My MacBook is getting a little long in the tooth. It is now over 5 years. I wouldn’t mind having that new 27 inch screen and Macbook. I love Apple so much!
And I previously reminded you that Apple is a major sponsor of liberal causes. If you want to promote that, you are what you are.
This is perfect timing before Christmas. I definitely will be updating my kids I Pads. They are at least 3 years old now. They got them from Grandma and the kids love them. They are awesome on long trips. I will replace my computer and my wife wants a new iPhone. We went to get the I-Phone six a week after the opening day and they were still out of stock.
Go somewhere else. Nobody cares about you troll.
Unless that shopping spree is used, I imagine it will help fund lots of abortions, land closures and such.
Since contrary to what one guy here believes, thats the stuff Apple does with your money. Donates it tax writeoff included, to those groups.
RE: Yea and?
Yea and you’re ignorant (while you type your protestations on a machine who’s funds supported much more far left causes than Apple ever has). Piss off moron.

Maybe they could fix this piece of crap iOS 8 that turned my iPad from a useful tool to a buggy piece of crap.
Thank Apple.
Truth hurts huh? Still the truth.
And there you go with slurs on fellow Freepers. Come on now, cut it out. Go to a Microsoft Surface thread and spread your lies there.

My far left machine was bought in pieces from companies that don’t massively advertize their liberalism, some of it used, and parted together. Apple got none of it.
So again...Yea and?
My apologies, meant for the other guy.
Show any lie. Any.
Again apologies, meant for the other guy Norm Lenhart. He jumps on every Apple thread to disparage Apple and insult Freepers.
They make a good product. They make the best product for my business. I can assure you I don’t use my money to fund that stuff.
As a professional, I need to use the best tools to provide the best product.
