CNN SUGGESTS RACISM BEHIND DEATH OF DALLAS EBOLA PATIENT
by John Nolte
Minutes after news broke of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan, CNN anchor Ashleigh Banfield suggested racism might have contributed to the Ebola patient's death. While talking with her guest about the possibility of a wrongful death lawsuit against the hospital, Banfield said, "You cannot rule out the notion that he had no Social Security number when he went to the hospital, and had a strong, thick West African accent. And his partner even said he's from Liberia." Banfield is referring to reports that Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital sent Duncan home on September 20 with antibiotics. Later in the segment, Banfield said that she didnt believe "malice" had anything to with the hospital's actions, which completely contradicted what she suggested just a few minutes earlier. Without a hint of evidence, CNN seems to have decided that the tragic death of Mr. Duncan and this unspeakably awful West African Ebola outbreak is gist for racial-hatred mill. While Texans and Americans worry about the possibility of an outbreak on our own shores, CNN doesn't seem to think that's a sexy enough story; so let's throw some unfounded racial speculation on the fire. Banfield mentioned nothing about any reporting to back up her race baiting.

/facepalm
Think Sharpton’s jealous he didn’t get to Dallas first?
I KNEW this was coming. Due to the 2 doctors and one nurse (all Caucasian Americans, by the way) were “cured”. And the NBC cameraman who is being treated in Omaha, he seems to be white, too, so if he pulls through, there will be rampant rioting over the fact that the treatment is different, depending on one’s race.
BLACKTERIA!
What’s pathetic is that it may very well turn out that Africans are genetically more likely to be seriously impacted by ebola. That would hardly be unusual, but most people won’t let facts or science get in the way.
The leftists in the news media have been practicing political correctness for so long that most of them know of no other term by which to refer to a black person EXCEPT “African American”.
A couple of summer olympics ago I sat and laughed as some poor TV “sports” guy referred to a black gymnast from France as “African-American” no fewer than three times during her performance. Apart from racism, I cannot think a good reason why he needed to refer to her by her skin color instead of her nationality, but it WAS funny (to me).
I believe that is "grist", not "gist".
Jesse wants to be involved? Fair enough. Let’s send the next several Ebola possibilities to JJ’s home so that he can play hospital ombudsman.
Ebola was behind his death from Ebola. CNN should be asking how many of his doctors and nurses are white. How many have risked their lives being in the same room with him. And then ask if he would have gotten better care in Liberia.
FUCNN.
That should get their broadcasting license pulled. In a sane world.
Actually, it was 1976. So Nixon invented it. Ford launched it.
I agree with you. But she WAS hot back during Gulf I.
YEAH, AND there are many women who communicate with serial killers on death row. Can’t fix stupid. Or self-destructive.
There may be a significant impact from this.
The Dems have been actively exploiting, demagoguing race issues to drive up Black turnout in the coming elections. Blacks, historically, don’t vote in midterm elections anywhere near how the vote in Ptesidential years (particularly 2008 and 2012).
The Dems NEED to drive up that turnout. Whether they are successful will determine control of the Senate.
If Blacks can be convinced that Ebola is a 60-70% fatal example of how they are being racially oppressed, they’ll turn out in higher numbers. As they will if Ofr Wilson in Fergusson is acquitted or they’re convinced that the voter id laws are going to disenfranchse them (see that JournOlist twit Gregg Sargent’s latest in the WaPo)
I have occasion to interview hockey players and mingle with some of the media that cover the sport. On two occasions, one writer who is an otherwise OK guy (but obviously liberal) interviewed non-white players and pursued that line of questioning. Both times, the players were at first befuddled by the questions, then became slightly annoyed as the writer kept asking those types of questions. They obviously pound this meme into j-school types, and it is in fact becoming a problem in sports reporting.
Given that hospital personnel had never dealt with somebody with ebola symptoms before, front-end hospital personnel possibly not being up to speed on major ebola problems in Liberia (where is Liberia?), I think that giving Mr. Duncan antibiotics and sending him away is human error.
I meant do not read too much in to a newscaster referring to the victim as ‘African American’ instead of simply ‘ black’ or ‘African’.
Of course the race hustlers are going to try to exploit Ebola. In fact, I’m surprised they have not already blamed the CIA for planting the disease in Africa - then again, maybe they have...
“..the players were at first befuddled by the questions, then became slightly annoyed as the writer kept asking those types of questions.”
Yes, that was exactly the attitude of the man I saw. I think it was lucky for the reporter that the guy was, in fact, Canadian. I don’t think your average American would have shown such tolerance for stupidity.
