All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

I blame the iPad...
They’re calling it a Dobb’s head.
It would have been nice.

The post shows this:
I don’t know what the difference is.
“I iz king of zis montin!!”
A cat with a million-dollar view.
I may go to bed and lie down to watch some movies. But not right now. There are a couple of programs on PBS that I want to watch, so I will see how my back and right leg feel after a while.
My lunch would have been very good with a Pink Drink!
I’ll send you some Pink Drink funds if you promise to buy the Pink Drink with them!
James is playing a computer game as a reward for helping with some cleanup from the church festival. It involves loud, loud talking, and a musical number from Kathleen.
DP and Bill have just arrived home from Myrtle Beach. They need to go to Mass and can take Tom and Elen, who got back from their campout while I was at church with the rest of the gang.
Weird. I thought I’d grabbed the coolskul.gif from right next to it.
HTML coding is t3h sux0rs from an iPad.
I promise! I’ll even buy two, so I have one in reserve!
Sounds like the whole family had a good time this weekend.
I can hardly wait to see how everyone has grown and changed since last I saw them all.
Get the big boxes. They keep a long time, you know!
We did have a good time. DP and Bill got to see his mother in Myrtle Beach. It’s always a question whether she’ll have time for them (sigh).
Joann says the church festival was a financial success, although all the accounting isn’t done yet. She said the auctions/raffles (which our prayer group ran for several years, including your knits) made about $8,000. I only bought two raffle tickets (and didn’t win) because I had to use all my money on food and rides for 7 children. Oh, well ... all goes to the same place at the end.
I will definitely get the big boxes and I will clean out a place in one cupboard just for the extra. I hate being without Pink Drink!
How is DP’s mother, since his dad passed? Is she doing OK?
I’m glad the church festival was successful. Maybe in a few years, I can contribute some handcrafted items again. My problem these days seems to be that I don’t take time to SIT and watch TV in the afternoons, which is when I did most of the work. I don’t know how I got out of the habit, but I think it started when I moved here, and my chair wasn’t right in front of the TV.
Lately, I’ve been trying to work on projects beginning about 1300, as that’s when Blue Bloods comes on WGN (Tom Selleck) and I LIKE to watch him! He is heavier, now, with many more lines in his face, but Jillie Mack is still one of the luckiest girls I know of! LOL!
Elen said she didn’t like watching “Blue Bloods” because Tom Selleck just looks too old! I like him better in Western roles now, myself. DP and I didn’t like the show that much because the family drama ate up the time that is needed for a worthwhile police-procedural plot.
I haven’t had a chance to ask how his mother is. They were divorced more than 30 years ago. I’ve talked to his stepmother, his father’s recent widow, and she’s doing well.
Tom Selleck is Tom Selleck. I will watch him....
I’d rather watch him in Magnum, PI, but I’ll take him in The Sacketts and Quigley Down Under, too!
