All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

So the collective owership of The National Trust makes it “Privately” owned, rather than Private ownership of a single person?
Must go g’night. :)
Have a nice night!
What a morning. I got done with my final banking and came back only to be worried that I had left a light on and my curtains open. I was going to blow it off but it nagged me so much I had to go back — only to find I had left my house keys here, which means I was locked out of Busdaddy’s, too.
And then I realized my phone was charging at his place so I had to wake up a neighbor and use his phone to call a locksmith. It was one of the oldest in the valley and the only one I could think of with no phone book handy.
So I do 75 mph all the way which is 10 miles over the speed limit AND what I normally drive, but I got here and waited. And waited. And waited.
Finally, a neighbor came out and asked politely why I wasn’t in the house, and then allowed me to use his phone. I’m almost in tears by this time, but I bit back the frustration and called the company. They had “one truck with mechanical problems and couldn’t come today.” I don’t believe that for a second.
So I asked the neighbor for a phone book and called another company and they were here within 45 minutes. I looked high and low for my house keys and when I was ready to make a second pass, I saw them lying on the floor by the kitchen table. WOT??
I used up over a quarter of a tank of gas, and I’m sure it was the speed as well as the distance.
I’ve missed one dose of pills and now the other one is due and I’m so upset, I don’t want to eat anything. Not good.
But that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Umm...
Happy New Year?
The longhaired one on the left looks rather, er, “princess” like.
If that’s any indication of what my year will be like, I think I’ll take chocolate. ;o]
Actually, things happen to me in threes, so I have it out of the way for the year. The rest is downhill. :o])
The one-liners aren’t my favorite. I like a troll who makes an effort.
Oh, dear. That was all very much Fail.
I have to go over to church in a little while to look for some things I left there. Maybe Elen will drive, but I hope not: it’s raining and I don’t need to be scared.
At least you’re safe and collected again.
True.
I think all of those kittens look pretty narcissistic.
Like I said, “bad luck” happens in threes to me, and that gets them out of the way, so I can go on with my normally optimistic self.
:o]
Yes, most kittens have a “worship my fuzziness” complex.
Sparkle is doing a great job not being fuzzy. She was when I first got her, but she is glossy and soft, now... :o]
Probably from a good diet.
Getting her off Science Diet and getting her out of the cage are the two biggest factors, I think. When I saw her clean herself, I was really excited. It’s a sign she is healing, inside and out.
Ceirdwyn is very..fluffy.
She has had her tail replaced with a dust catcher.
Colton has a bit more fur.
He still has short fur, but not the scruffy peachfuzz he had.
He looks like a respectable kitty now!
That’s good. You don’t want a cat with no fur, especially in your climate.
Shannon has the runs. I’ve mentioned to Bill and Tom that they should put their clothing away, in case she has to go in their room.
Cats will do almost anything to keep from soiling themselves and their immediate surroundings. Give her some cheese, if she will eat it, and withhold dry food for a few hours.
Also check to see if she has a fever.
