Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)

Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46

All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.

A few items...

JPL uncensored video showing large-scale structure:

Electrical device of some sort with helical coil wound around it
Device is on the left, about a third of the way down on the image

Gear of some sort.

Wheel - axle device

Raw NASA/JPL image:

CSI did a show with one of them as a murder victim.

It’s one thing to wear a animal costume if you are a school mascot. (I’m guilty of this in HS)

As for the other thing, yes. Yes you need brain bleach. I wonder if it’d in the DSM 5.

Sparkle is doing well. Not a blue flash, but she IS playing and eating well, but still has a hard time coming out in the light.

The orange hairs in her coat make her look like she has been generously sprinkled with fairy dust, and each time I hold her, I can see more of the pattern.

Sounds like she’s coming along fine. Please give her a kiss for me.

My cats came with the names Cleopatra and Holly. Both suited them. Cleo was super high maintenance. Holly was the polar opposite. I liked her name because I’m such a big fan of Red Dwarf.

Well the DSM 5 is large enough to contain every disorder known to man, by the look of it.
If you ever meet one conduct an “Australian interview” ,the depth of the illness is staggering.

She is a DSH, but her coat is so thick and so short that it’s like trying to hug a chinchilla. She has a soft little purr and loves “palm plants” — her face in my palm.

She didn’t extend her claws this last time I held her which is really good.

I’m really happy with her, and hoping she will soon come up on the bed with me. Probably the only piece of furniture that she will be allowed on without a cover of some kind. (Covers to protect the surface so not so many cat hairs transfer to the company’s clothes!)

"We named the reptiles and rodents ourselves."

I like to think that we helped with Vlad.

Vlad is the Dimpled Darling of the T-c household. He will be sought after, for sure. Gear up, T-c!

Suggestions were made about other children, but the grandparents just weren’t going to accept “Andromache.”

Wait until you see his new picture, which I will send you one of after I pick them up from the mall, no earlier than Friday.

Also, the Package Bunneh brought us a really cute Christmas ornament, which we will put on a tree when we get one. Right now it’s on the shelf with the Advent calendar, along with the one Miss Kitten gave me yesterday.

That Package Bunneh also brought several sheets of incredibly fascinating red bubble wrap!

Lots of cats are named Cleopatra, and I’m sure many deserve it.

Dontcha just love bubble wrap???

I’m glad you got the ornament OK. It was simple to make, so if you need directions at any time, let me know. I must have made six or seven of them, but I gave them all away as presents when I was still in TX. There was one with a green zigzag on it, but I don’t know where it is...maybe slated for the thrift store.

I got my table set with my Christmas dishes, but can’t find my “gold” flatware. And I’m missing napkins and a runner. *sigh*

Oh, yes...

In case I haven’t mentioned it, I lost 4.3 pounds this last week. :o])

Thank you for the happy update. It’s great that she is taking
to you and realizing that you are kind and gentle with her.

Congratulations on making friends with her in record time.
