All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

New kitty bump.
Thanks! She had a little accident because she couldn’t figure out the flap on the litter box, so my good quilt is on the patio drying out. I DID say I wanted to wash again next week...
Needless to say, the flap is coming off. That’s a dirty shame that they put that on there. Not every cat can figure out things like that.
Thank you. It’s a pleasure to be here.
*hug*
The same thing happened to me. Flap removed. Trouble solved.
The Kitteh Previously Named April is now Sparkle, because of the orange flecks in her black hair. In the light, they sparkle! Hence, the name!
It’s in the trash as we speak.
2 *hugs*
Excellent! Let me know when you’re ready, and I’ll post a welcome thread.
Any time you want! Poor thing was confined in a cage in the vet’s office for six months, so she is still adjusting to limited freedom. I’ve tried not to give her sensory overload by keeping her in the bedroom, and this morning, she actually let me pet her, so there is progress.
I think the trip home in a box (cardboard carrier) traumatized her even more, so I’m trying to just give her a minimum of stimulation until she actually comes to me. Slow and sure. She will heal.
I nominate Felix Baumgartner.
Shannon sympathizes with the litterbox-flap issue.
Speaking of catz, the Northern Mockingbird who lives in the Carolina Jasmine outside the kitchen door has been heard the last few mornings yelling, “Jake! Jake!” when the eponymous feline goes out to prowl the garden.
YES!
I wish I had kept the sticker from the manufacturer because I sure would write an interesting email. That’s cruel.
My pills are all sorted, and I had to eat something before I could take them. I really didn’t want to, but...I need the pills.
I took the blanket off the bed, too, and will have to take the sheets off soon. Making it again may take me all day. And I have no extra blankets. *sigh* I only had one and the quilt so I’m going to be a little cool tonight, even in flannel jammies between flannel sheets and on a heated mattress pad. *shiver*
My dose on the nebulizer left me with the shakes so it will be an hour before I get over that...
Sounds like you need more blankets!
If you get an electric blanket to go along with your heated mattress pad, you can broil and bake at the same time.
Yep.
Some carolers from the church just came by with a bag of fruit, some Hershey’s bars and a DVD and book. I had to hug the folks...except for the kids...they were unhuggable by making themselves scarce!
Anyway, I went out to get the mail, and there was none. Maybe Monday.
That’s funny, Bob!
