All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

Thanks! I’ve filed the link for future reference because there is no way I can get that now without suffering in some other area. Thanks for posting that!

I think you are taking about a percolator.
Here is a kettle from the ‘60s. It was only for boiling water.
http://www.canadiandesignresource.ca/housewares/k-42-electric-kettle/
My sister told me she couldn't buy one when she lived in Kentucky. We had to send her one.
It's probably because you don't drink as much tea as we do.
(In my opinion.)
I think they overlooked gravy though. There is never enough gravy, and never enough stuffing.
Usually lots of leftover turkey.
But there is supposed to be. Its like a rule or something.
Hmmm, maybe not in Kentucky (depends on the part of Kentucky, there have been a lot of National Geographic articles about some of those parts).
One of the two real old log cabins I have lived in was outside of a place called Isom, KY, back around 1962.
The house did not have electricity or indoor plumbing when we first got there, so an electric kettle would have been difficult to use.
Now, we were up in a holler 'bout a mile er so, but even in town most people didn't have indoor plumbing. I guess it wasn't a priority to anyone except my mom, who saw to it the place got electrified and plumbed without delay.
Because she had already been there and done that, the place we lived when us kids were born was off the grid, another real old log cabin in Oregon - but we did have running water there, through the magic of gravity and a convenient spring up the hill. Hot and cold, even.
But there, as in Kentucky, we didn't have any electric kettles.
More for me... ;-)
On the other hand, White Furbeast With No Tail To Tell does like turkey.
And stuffing.
And mashed potatoes (with giblet gravy).
But they are not fond of candied sweet potatoes...
or cranberries...
or vegies.
And they aren't picky about consuming leftovers either.
As long as those leftovers do not include candied sweet potatoes...
or cranberries...
or vegies.
And right now she's napping on her exclusive electrically heated Furbeast Bed. Whether the nap is tryptophan induced or just a feline furbeast thing is unknown. Naps from either cause appear the same even to a trained eye. ('Tis her exclusive bed because she won't let any of the other furbeasts near it so they learn that it is warm and start a race riot...)
Inside joke. Remember what color the rest of the furbeasts are... ;-)
It's funny to me, because I don't even remember the last time I turned my TV on.
There is yet more irony though, being that I bought it on a black Friday sale about 6 years ago.
Amen...
And besides, we are on topic because turkeys originated on Mars.
For real...
Since it seems those on your side of the pond don't have anything to be thankful for, why is it they have a black Friday over there???
There is an ironic joke buried in that . :)
Mail is closely akin to our National Inquirer,
The news letter of the 'Chattering classes'.
The only thing i can put this event down to is an attempt to increase turnover in the depressed market.
Empty out all of the old stock at reduced prices with a bit of a fanfair rather than just the usual 'Sales' that have now been going on since 2008.
Where better to look than the US when you need an idea for some razamataz to drum up sales? :)
Well you do all do it with such panache and it worked. :)
It was found in the bottom of the freezer and dates from before we landed here on Mars. Therefore Proof that Turkeys originated here on Mars. |
Check at your local dollar stores. There's a possibility you could acquire something useful for the proverbial stipend. It's just an extension cord for USB, so it too can be made inexpensively.

Well, there we go....
As hard a puzzle to solve as the Chicken or the Egg.
In honor of the Advent Kitteh,, I ‘d like to post the URL of the brand new Simon’s Cat video with a Christmas theme.
Enjoy,
Morning T-c. Morning Everyone.
