All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

Happy Veterans ‘ Day to all, and thank you for your service.
Happy Remembrance Day to our Commonwealth FRiends! Kathleen is brandishing a flag at the catz.
Good morning, troops. Happy Veteran’s Day!
And, just in time for the celebration ...
Oh, man. If that shows up on Netflix, we’re doomed, DOOMED I say.
I gotta go to work. Whaddaya think this is, a holiday?
If you worked for the USPS or a bank ...
My trip to London was limited to Heathrow.
Never encountered such rude people as the employees at Heathrow. *shudder* That was the only bad part of my trip.
IMHO, Adam West IS Batman.
I never liked the movies. Just the tv show.
Agreed, if it shows up on Netflix I’m doomed too.
Surprisingly, it is here in Gotham. But I’m putting in some overtime.
I’m showing my appreciation for my fellow Veterans (although I don’t really count sitting 4 years at a base in Omaha, NE during the cold war compared to fighting in Iraq) by taking full advantage of the freedom to earn cash they provided for me.
“It’s a ubiquitous, iniquitous, enigma.”
-Batman in some episode about which I remember nothing else
*yawn* morning.
Don’t know where I was last night. Somewhere in the far east, SE Asia maybe?
Saffron and dark red robes on the monks, festival in the street, friendly people, few cars, mostly walking mingling shopping.
Most of the people I encountered were westerners, but the locals would reach into the car and hand me a little worm or give me one on the street while walking, big smile, very friendly.
I was told they were cecropia moth larvae, and one was to eat them, being offered one was something of an honor.
They were sweet, tart, fruity with a somewhat meaty aftertaste and a texture/mouth feel something like tiny bits of bubble wrap. I liked them and had maybe a dozen over the course of the day.
Slimy, yet satisfying.
You.have.the.strangest.dreams!!!!!!
I’m at Busdaddy’s at the moment, doing laundry. I was going to take all surface streets, because there has been a string of accidents on the local freeways, but then I remembered today was Veteran’s Day, and the traffic would be light.
About a third of the way there, I had a loaded cement truck on my right and a small car on my left, and as they passed me, they decided to merge into my lane at the same time. I would have been in the thick of it if they had collided, but the cement truck was able to swerve, even though he was loaded.
That was enough. I got off at the next exit!
“When you’re with a sweep you’re in glad companeeeee....”
I thought they were weather conditions around the equator.
Sounds like a honorable ending to a night.
Amen ... Good to see you posting and Thanks to All Our Veterans for their Service.
am glad to see you in the company ... {{HUGS}} Sg!
