Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)
Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46
All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

Gear of some sort.

Bring all your pumpkins to the pig farm! The pigs love this yearly treat.
It’s 47 degrees outside and a toasty 70 in here. Mt. Charleston got over an inch of snow yesterday...ta-DAH!
I hate the time change. My body still wants to get up at the usual time. I woke up about 0300 and couldn’t go back to sleep...because I was COLD!!! My electric mattress pad automatically shuts off after 10 hours. So I had to crank it up and put a throw over me before I was able to fall back to sleep.
And then some nasty back spasms woke me up. So here I am...

I was wondering if you might remember that little detail when you said you could keep your bed warm for a pet 24/7.
It seems most manufacturers put that ten-hour limiter on the heaters. You can turn it off and back on again to start the timer, but who has the energy for that?
So far, the extent of my industry this morning is having gone back to bed several times. I guess I might as well try something else.

"The recliner and a blankie?" Nope. A hot shower and a long list of chores.
Not to worry, though. I most likely won't get very far through the list.

For reasons which I would love to thank the President some day, my wife and I are presently maintaining two households. I, where I can earn a good living and she, where she doesn't hate being (the word "hobbs" has a usage not heard much these days, but it fits for the name of the gritty oil patch town where I park my bones for the time being).
It is because my business trip to CO last week fell across our anniversary (21 years), I made the extra round trip from Pueblo to Denver two times, to pick her up and drop her off at the airport, so that we might have a rendezvous, have dinner together a couple times and so forth.
So it was a nice time, but in her absence I do enjoy the recliner and blankie situation over the weekends sometimes. That is something which she WOULD NOT permit if she were here.
To: Clinging Bitterly; null and void
I have a recliner. But it belongs to
her.
Even when she's not here.

Probably, everybody keeps looking in, and no one is saying anything.

What’s there to say when no one is here? I mean, it’s like talking to myself.

We are here (well I can't speak for everybody but I, and all the others who are here and who would agree to me saying they are here, are here).
The others are close to missing seeing this thing roll over a buck and a half.
To: Clinging Bitterly
Seems we do that a lot lately, because the ZOTS! get taken from us before we can snag one and claim it. Of course, we DID take one thread to the End of the Internet, once...
