All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

Cute!
The dog looked so embarrassed...
(And I seem to sleep so much better when I’ve had some Pink Drink.)
So do I. I bought a box today.
At one time... but... not since Labor Day in 1935...
For a long time after that hurricane that took out the railroad, you could drive out there on the bridges originally built by Florida East Coast RR (which the state of Florida took over, fixed some of the hurricane damage, and in 1938 made part of US 1.)
US 1 was rebuilt in the '80s. Now the remains of the viaducts are used as fishing piers and observation decks as part of the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail...
FEC RR bridge on left, 'new' US 1 on right...
Very interesting!
Got any 4’s?
I will try to buy some Monday, though it is not in the budget at the moment. I’m going to try and get my spendy meds before I “indulge.”
I’m not happy with the numbers, but I have been worse off for longer, so I won’t complain.
Heading for bed in just a few! Happy Nevada Statehood Day!
Wow. History ROCKS! Thanks, NC!
Happy Nevada Statehood!
Thanks! The mail carrier forgot and tried to deliver to the school next door... We both had a good laugh!
I had I GF in HS whose cat would wake her up by gently biting the end of her nose.
...with one lower canine in each nostril...

Raining and cold here. It was a zoo at Missionaries of the Poor, trying to feed about 100 people indoors ... but it got done.
The sun is finally out, but there was a dusting of snow on Mt. Charleston, this morning. No wonder I was so cold. And the WIND! GAH!!!!!
Today is my do-nothing day. I have nothing to do and all day to do it in and when I get tired of doing nothing, I will lie down and take a nap.
It was so cold and wet and windy this morning that when Busdaddy got done with his walk he had to take a hot shower because he was so chilled. Poor Fluffers.
I’m glad the feed was a success, indoors or not. God has His reasons for bringing in the sheep.
Like keeping them all from getting soaked. I changed into dry clothes when I got home. Now we're cleaning up from Hallowe'en.
The sheep might have gotten something besides warm and dry from the inside meal. I never question things like weather when it comes to feeding the huddled masses.
I think there is a learning opportunity there for those who are open to the messages awaiting them.
I’ve seen it under my own roof.
*off topic*
Yesterday, the Church Lady and her hubby paid their monthly call to see how I’m doing. I told them about my foot surgery in January and they have set things rolling so that I have transportation to and from (probably them) and meals for the first few days, since both feet will be operated on.
:o])
I hope it works out for your feet. January is just around the corner!
Sally’s friends have departed, and I have Cleaned, not that it lasts very long. Bill and Tom are back from their respective activities.
My living room is beginning to look like a living room, but now, I have this idea that I want to make the facing wall darker than the other three, so that when you come in the door, you are met with the illusion of a room that is longer/larger. I’m thinking of a pale dusty rose or something in a pastel federal blue, to pick up the shades in the rug.
When I go in on Monday, for my recertification, I will check to see if this can be done. I think it can, but the stipulation is nebulous...it has to be painted over when you move out, but if you die, then what?...
Maybe this coming week, I can get the bookcase anchored and begin to fill it so the stack of crates on the patio dwindles by Christmas.
And come what may, the table will be clean and waiting for the Nativities that I’m so anxious to display. I try to buy one a year, and look for those that are different, either from different artists, or different cultures.
I’m excited!
