Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)

Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46

All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.

A few items...

JPL uncensored video showing large-scale structure:

Electrical device of some sort with helical coil wound around it
Device is on the left, about a third of the way down on the image

Gear of some sort.

Wheel - axle device

Raw NASA/JPL image:

Metallic container with handle

Well just dang..

I'm fresh out of tunics...

And the whitefurbeast with no-tail-to-tell is hiding her tail somewhere. It's been out of sight for over six years now. I doubt if we will ever find it...

That’s a nice thing to say. I actually wouldn’t mind a job that required more work again, but I’m not volunteering to leave for that reason any more.

‘What day is it?”

“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.

“My favorite day,” said Pooh.

I’m with Pooh.

I would like to make that drive, since I have some relatives in Colorado. And I would be starting at dang near Mexico, too!!

Safe journey, and may the hot (or iced) coffee be plentiful!

Wellnow. Weigh Day. Three more pounds gone. Soup and tuna seem to be the way to get it done, but the larder is looking empty.

Still, I will meet my goal, and hopefully, by Christmas.

This morning, I was going to walk, but I wasn’t able to fall asleep right away last night, so it was difficult to wake up this morning. It would be so nice to just have one day where I woke up feeling refreshed. Just one. :o|

The local news just reported that about 150,000 early voters have hit the polls so far in Clark County, (they close on Friday) and GOP seems to have about 6% more than the Dims. I hope it bodes well for the election on Tuesday.

Congratulations on your further additional loss! Raucous round of applause. Jake says Mao!

I went to the gym. I feel much older than I did a week ago.

Thanks. I thought, the way my week was going, that I was going to gain again, but somehow, I managed to lose. That was a pleasant surprise this morning.

As soon as the sun comes over the yardarm, I have to alter a pair of Busdaddy’s work pants. I need the light!

Then I need to find the studs in the wall behind the big bookcase so I can attach anchors to it. Then I need to do something productive like wash dishes. And when it gets warmer, I need to take a shower. (No heat/A/C vent in there.)

*tagline*

I already washed dishes. I’ve also done laundry.

The price of gas is down. I’m going to go fill up the purple car and stop by Aldi to look at vegetables.

I just found this on Facebook, and thought maybe you could relate.

http://teachinggoodthings.com/blog/from-a-homeschool-victim-who-obviously-survived/

I’m hoping the gas prices stay down until Monday, so I can fill the tank for less than $35...

I think every single breakfast cereal in my house has to be thrown out, from oatmeal and grits to dry cereal. None of it is fresh, which just goes to show...the stuff doesn’t come in containers small enough for me to use up in a timely manner.

What a waste. And I’m even out of Instant Breakfast and on my last quart of milk. No wonder I’ve lost weight...there is no selection and no incentive to eat.

(I think I need one of those vacuum sealer machines so I can put the stuff in portions and seal them to store or freeze. I’ve always thought they might be a nice thing to have, but now I think how truly practical they are.)

I my have to drive to Denver soon - from purt-near the Atlantic Ocean. It’s to see relatives but not because I want to visit. I have to pick up the bass viol my wife loaned her nephew.

Ziplock bags! Freezer!

They don’t make containers big enough for my household.

I got Brussels sprouts, grapes, and cauliflower at Aldi.

You use Busdaddy’s work pants as your main sail?

I can do that...but it will require double-bagging. I don’t want freezer burn on anything. I hate throwing out food.
