I have a serious concern with her description.

She claims it is a “sex” crime. It is not.

It is a crime - theft of private property. But there is no “sex” in the crime, regardless of her state of undress. The photos in question were stolen, then released without her permission.

But there was no “sex” in the act of stealing the photos at all.

If our society continues to brand everything a sex crime, then nothing will be a sex crime.

Honestly, I cannot decide if it should be treated as a sex crime.

If it was child pornography, with no actual sex, most would agree it was a sex crime.

If someone else took the photos without her knowledge, like a hidden dressing room camera, some would consider it a "sex" crime.

Most would agree, if the photos were not about forbidden nudes, they would not have been taken and sold to the tabloids.

How would you describe the nude photos of Erin Andrews taken through the hotel room peep hole on the door?

Is "Peeping Tom" a sex crime? Is it a sexual fetish?

Is stealing someone's nude photos just the digital age equivalent of the peeping Tom?
