How would you describe the nude photos of Erin Andrews taken through the hotel room peep hole on the door?

Is "Peeping Tom" a sex crime? Is it a sexual fetish?

Is stealing someone's nude photos just the digital age equivalent of the peeping Tom?

I would say the taking of a nude photo such as through a peephole, without consent of the photograph subject, is a sex related crime such as being a peeping tom.

I honestly do not know whether “peeping” is a sex crime, although it is commonly related to sex. Voyeurism is certainly a fetish, but the illegality only comes in when the subjects being viewed are unwilling or unaware.

The stealing of digital data in any form is theft. Does the fact that the form contains a nude image make it worse than theft? Does that depend on whether it was taken for profit or prurient interests?

I have neither spent much time considering these ponderables, nor do I claim the wisdom to define it all for society.
