Queertown vs. Crooktown
Let’s go Royals!
Thanks, I did my Marine days in the early 70s, just an old fart now,, but always have my antennas up!
We’re doing 17 days on a cruise ship during the WS and election .. Hong Kong looms too!
3 runs 14 hits?
Global varming?
(Ducks)
In 1969 I traveled with a group to DC. We were fortunate enough to attend a Washington Senators vs Baltimore Orioles game at RFK Stadium. I saw Boog Powell, Davey Johnson, Frank Robinson, and as a former 3rd baseman myself, my all-time favorite Brooks Robinson. It was a great day for me. The Orioles won 6-3.
You never know. The Giants bring the torture.
I remember Ed Brinkman. He hit a very reliable .188 most years. Then there was Tim Cullen, Mike Epstein, Camalio Pasqual, Bernie Allen, Del Unser and all those other unforgettable superstars.
They sure do, its a tough sport,, they’ve hung tough..
A break here and there.. 3 in 5 years,, Yeah, IT’s doable, just don’t break Buster or THE Panda..
Nah, his experience dealing with Denny McLain sent him to a manager’s early retirement!.......
But you'll take the W right?
It's an even year, 2010, 2012, 2014!!!

On 6/24/69 pushing the Oriole’s year’s W/L record to 52/19. Brooksie went 1 for 5. Hall the W/P....Shellenback the L/P.
THAT sounds like fun! Have a great time, FRiend!
Go Giants! (They always make it interesting, don’t they?)
(but do they always have to make it close?)
Thanks! It’s almost here!! Planning for something a year in advance isn’t easy. I may need a vacay after we get back!
Now there ya go - Washington Senators. If any team needs to doff it’s name it’s the Washington Senators. Get rid of “Senators” - it implies politics and politics have no business in sports.
My slip of the keyboard was not intended to instigate debate,, but..
I hear ya. :-)
Oh yeah, Seaver, Koos, Tommie, Cleon, Bud, Nolan, Grote and the rest of the ‘69 Miracle Mets said to say hi!!! (Sorry South, I couldn’t resist! LOL!!!!) Greatest upset in W/S history! If those two teams had squared off, (somehow, fantasy or whatever), in a 162 head to head battle with both squads going full throttle each game, the Birds would have whipped ‘em 100-62. Long time admirer of Gil Hodges so I was happy for him that many moon ago Oct. of 1969.
It was meant in humor since that Redskins thing ....
