A KFC member of staff refused a customer a hand-wipe as it might offend muslim people.
The incident happened at a branch in Leicester which is taking part in a halal trial.
Halal means lawful in Arabic and as hand wipes are soaked in alcohol, which is forbidden by the Quran, KFC in St Georges Retail Park said it could not offer the customer, Graham Noakes, 41, one.
They told me it might offend other customers, said Mr Noakes.
I explained that it wouldnt affect me. In fact - I told them I like alcohol, so it wouldnt bother me in the slightest.
He said he was disgusted at being refused and would not be going to KFC again.
He added: Why shouldnt I be allowed a wipe for my hands?
They use wipes in hospital. What happens when we start being told we cant have wipes there?

Amazing what the PC crowd has ushered in. When will enough be enough, there (and here)?
Just curious...are hand wipes a common thing to be handed out at KFC? I know I’ve seen them at Chic Fil A - and I doubt they’d be pressured to stop supplying them.
Maybe folks in UK (and here) should make sure they’ve got plenty of alcohol laden hand wipes on hand.....for KFC, buses, etc. Just to have to spread around, in the crowds.
Is it ethanol in those hand wipes? I thought it was methanol or isopropyl alcohol.
Hey KFC there is NO getting along with Muslims. Just ask McDonalds in Dearborn, Mi they tried to offer Halal food, when something wasn’t proper, the Muslims sued them.
There is NO compromise with Muslims.
the KFC lackey sounds like an idiot.
I look forward to offending Muslims so my big-ass envelope of Wet Ones should do the trick.
It looks like popeyes for me now and for the forseeable future.....Don’t get your head chopped off. Not ONE of Popeye’s around here have..ahem.. civilized people in them.
Can this concept somehow be used to get rid of ethanol mandates?
Not long after 9/11, but before obama, I remember a conversation here with a poster from somewhere in Britain.
I don't think I was the stereotypical American arrogant with him, but argued with what I now think was naive overconfidence that the Constitution would protect us from the islamatization that Europe and GB are falling before.
I wish I could remember his name, so I could tell him that he was right and I was wrong, but that would just be for me. I'm sure he already knows.
soon headscarves will be required or you will offend Muslims
Do they have doctor’s offices?...where they give shots?
Maybe this aversion to wipes explains some aspects of their culture.
Take the hydroxyls off of two alcohols and hook them together — you have peroxide.
Did you have to actually look up what an alcohol is? No wonder you don’t get chemistry humor.
A KFC in England. Whoda thunk it.
At least they only eat with their right hand.
At least they only eat with their right hand.
I gave up on Popeyes several years ago. Antagonistic ethnic radio commercials gave me plenty of reason not to go there again, as well as a reason to change channels or shut off the radio altogether.
What happens if you have a Muslim nurse in the hospital in the US? Will she give you a shot without wiping your arm with alcohol?
Start serving pork again—Pork Ribs! Watch the Islamic Head Chopers run away! Trust me—You don’t need their blood money!
Hijabs are offensive.
Remove them now.
Hydrogen peroxide is water with an extra oxygen atom.
Will she give you a shot without wiping your arm with alcohol?
But then, I’d never knowingly let myself be treated by a muslim nurse. As you and I both know, islam is a belief system. It is one that is poison to me as much as Nazism is poison to a jew.
I think he was being straight on this. A friend of mine works for McDonalds at their corporate office in the suburbs of Chicago and she indicated many of the non-US franchises and their employees have more autonomy than they would prefer. When many of these locations first opened, customers were predominantly native British or European citizens. Things have really changed in the past 25 years.
I was in a London fish and chip shop in 1991 and the food was good and cheap. I went back in 2002 and the same shop was in poor condition and run by an Asian (code word for Pakistani). The blue-collar neighborhood and the food quality went downhill pretty badly.
