NASCAR champion Tony Stewart will reportedly not face charges in the death of fellow driver driver Kevin Ward Jr. Ward was hit and killed in a horrifying crash that was caught on film last month, but a grand jury decided today that they will not bring up charges against Stewart,TMZ reports. The case was handed to a grand jury earlier this month by Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo, who made the decision to present the case after reviewing evidence of the tragic crash. Ward was fatally struck by Stewart while getting out of his car to confront the racing veteran, after the two collided on a prior lap at a race on August 9. Tantillo is expected to release a statement on the ruling at 3pm.

Don’t get me wrong, I get real cryptic when I comment sometimes, probably due to global varming yaknoww..
I agree it is better to clear the air than light more brushfires.. And leave everyone hanging.. Smoke’d.. So to speak.
I know Tony never goes out there to take drivers out so openly. If there is such a thing as a Perfect Storm, no one would wish this on anyone.
The eyes of NASCAR are everywhere, crossed as they may be as the sport devolves. :-]
He was very young, 20 - the judgement part of the brain is not developed until when, like 28 or 30?
The only thing testing can show is whether or not he has smoked within the last 30 days or so. There is no measure of when or how much.
The real question is how many people have seen the OTHER videos (assuming there are any), including the one that supposedly came from Stewart's helmet cam?
If there are other videos, you can be sure the grand jury saw them, and that's why there's no indictment.
For some on the left, it never happens :)
Tony Stewart is in a better position today and for the future BECAUSE
the process played out and he was cleared of wrong doing.
And that will go a long way in helping him move on with his life
and the family of the other racer, as well.
I only advocated that the process be allowed to play out.
I couldn’t go to work without clearing drug tests, and I had an office job...you telling me they don’t drug test race drivers? Insane?!?!
Now comes the lawsuit.
Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo said Wednesday that Ward had enough marijuana in his system that night to ‘impair judgement’
Darwin killed the other guy...
Of course.
I just mean that so many reflexively blame Ward and exonerate Stewart. The full video is hard to find. The first time I saw it, I was shocked and sickened. I doubt many people who defend Stewart have seen it.
But of Kevin had been blackish..
Well “ you’re covered Kevin’... don’t you know what I’m sain.
Presumption of guilt.
But Ward had his hands up!
“Ontario County District Attorney Michael Tantillo said Wednesday that Ward had enough marijuana in his system that night to ‘impair judgement’”
Don’t see how anyone could have watched the video and concluded differently.
I was floored when I read Kevin Ward had enough pot is his system to be impaired. I don’t doubt he may have had metabolites of THC in his urine, but impaired? Most people who are stoned can barely get their pizza ordered let alone drive a Sprint car. That type of speed, moving objects, lights going by, etc. would seemingly be impossible for someone impaired by pot to process. If levels were high enough for him to be deemed impaired, perhaps he smoked a lot of weed and had built up a tolerance.
Well this your lucky day. I have the 1st video that was on the .net at 02:00 Sunday 08/10/14 morning on MY PHONE! I have watched it dozens of times on the phone and on larger screens. I see a Driver getting out of his car and walking down the banking of the track INTO THE PATH OF MULTIPLE ONCOMING RACE CARS.
If you would like a copy of the video FreepMail Me your E-Mail and I will send it to You.
He wasn’t in the path of anyone. Stewart turned right into him.
